So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Madonna?

finallychangedmyusername · 25/10/2020 08:55

Ok, last attempt before I share!

She's not MadeLEINE, nor MadiSON, nor MadeLON.

Icelandic traveller Erikson and the Scream trilogy director share first names similar to that of the final 'missing' syllable.

Ellmau · 27/10/2020 00:02

Madelief!

finallychangedmyusername · 27/10/2020 09:46

Yes! @Ellmau has it, Madelief!

OP posts:
Ellmau · 27/10/2020 18:07

That was really really hard!

finallychangedmyusername · 27/10/2020 19:51

Grin Sorry! I thought it was better known than I now realise it is not! Blush Such a gorgeous name.

That was so hard @finallychangedmyusername
Please can you explain the plant element from your first clue?
Well done @Ellmau !

LadyGAgain · 27/10/2020 21:42

I've never ever seen or heard it. How do you say the name?

finallychangedmyusername · 27/10/2020 22:58

She's floral as Madelief means "daisy". But it's leafy as the name is pronounced mad-əh-LEEF. "Friends with a Tulip" clue was as it's a floral name, tulips are Dutch and so is the name Madelief.

The other clues related to the closely-related names Madeleine (sponge cake/madeleine biscuits) and Madison (from the 1980's film Splash).

And the final clue was Leif Erikson (Icelandic explorer) and Liev Schreiber (actor, NOT director in the Scream trilogy, sorry, my mistake there).

LadyGAgain · 28/10/2020 10:59

Lol! I was wondering how Wes Craven fitted in Grin.
Thanks for explaining! I've learned something new!

Ellmau · 28/10/2020 20:32

He's also a wild swimmer and leaps over things.

finallychangedmyusername · 31/10/2020 14:52

Tim/Timothy?

Tiny Tim for the Christmas connection. Timothy Q Mouse will fly one day with Dumbo.

Ellmau · 02/11/2020 17:41

He's rather sweet.

finallychangedmyusername · 03/11/2020 11:27

Kris/Kriss?

Kris Kringle will be flying soon! Kriss Akabusi the hurdler jumps over things. Krispy Kream doughnuts I think are the sweet connection? Kris Humphries the swimmer. Kris Marshall played Colin Frissell in Love Actually.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 03/11/2020 18:06
