So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Or perhaps Hamish?

finallychangedmyusername · 11/09/2019 13:36

Neither Bonnie nor Hamish sorry.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 13/09/2019 20:49

The final clue refers to an actor.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 15/09/2019 19:44

Clarke?

finallychangedmyusername · 15/09/2019 20:57

Nope sorry. The first clue is probably the best/strongest.

We recently learnt he became a centenarian.

LadyGAgain · 16/09/2019 18:39

This is a very good one @finallychangedmyusername . I am so stumped. Gonna give it some real attention later!

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/09/2019 18:43

I’ve been thinking all about Sunday’s- celebrities with children called Sunday, black sabbath.... im completely stumped!

finallychangedmyusername · 16/09/2019 18:48

Glad it's so testing. Grin That makes it all the more fun!

His centenarian announcement occurred a few weeks ago, but refers to last year.

Of the three in political circles, one may be mourning the death of a friend or family member.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 17/09/2019 12:03

(Or at least, his name might suggest so).

OP posts:
TheGirlWhoLived · 17/09/2019 12:12

Oooh are we talking grieve as in Dominic Grieve, Dominic Cummings...

Dominic?

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/09/2019 12:17

Can’t get the trilogy..... think those ones called I am Kirsty, I am Nicola, I am Hannah (I think!?) were written by a Dominic

finallychangedmyusername · 17/09/2019 14:25

Haha, yes, well played, it is Dominic!

Traditionally a Catholic child born on a Sunday might be named Dominic; the three politicians are Dominics Raab, Cummings and Grieve, as you got ("mourning a death..."); and in the Lord of the Rings the character of Merry (" in high spirits") was portrayed by Dominic Monaghan.

The centenarian clues refer to the ONS 2018 baby names (data released in August 2019)- Dominic was number 100 in the list of most popular boys names.

Here's the baton!

OP posts:
TheGirlWhoLived · 17/09/2019 20:23
