Names for a ballerina?

Hi! This is just a character design, not having child.
I am currently trying to write a book, and need some help for one of the main character.
She is shy on the outside, but once you get to know her, she is the craziest person ever. She's kind, sweet, soft-hearted, gentle, and love animals. She is also a dog person. She is Asian and a ballerina. She likes to paint, dance(obviously), explore the nature(ex: play in the forest),sing and is pretty good at it. Ballet is her everything.
Since this is more like a "daily life" theory, I would prefer all of them to have a middle name, just in case I need it.
I would like it to be an uncommon, three or two syllable, soft-souding(ex:luna, definitely not harper), feminine girl name(also, it would be great if it ends in a). Her last name is jing.
So what do you guys think?

I'm the mum of a dancer, not a ballet dancer and sure as hell not a ballerina & this is so true dancing until your feet bleed, listening to the same piano track over and over for 10+ hours, the competition in every aspect of her life, I honestly wouldn't bother. Ballet dancers (especially ballerinas) don't play in the forest, they don't sing, they don't paint. They dance and dance and dance until it is better than perfect, because there is always someone in the wings who will work harder and jump higher.

Even at DD's level (professional dancer - but as I say not a Ballet Dancer) this is true

I would go for a gritty name.

My DD teaches ballet.

IBallet is not a soft gentle persuit like picking wild flowers or stroking baby deer.

It's fucking hard work.

It hurts, many ballet dancers will do weights at the gym to enhance upper body strength. They have messed up feet, their shoes and kit bag stink, most like drinking large amounts of vodka on the rare day off.
Most swear like troupers.

Your character sounds one dimensional and unbelievable.

She is Asian is not an okay character description, btw. You need to know precisely where in Asia she/her family are from. "Asians" are not, in fact, interchangeable.

If she's British-Asian, she's probably from an Indian or Pakistani background. Japanese or Chinese names are irrelevant.

Lila? I went to university with an Asian girl called Lila... who was a dancer

The OP said up the thread that her character was Chinese, but wanted her to have an 'English' name -- but as all the names she lists code as ultra-American Valley Girl to me, who knows whether she means American of Chinese heritage or just hasn't really thought it through?

Jasmina/jasmine/Mina should the name have Asian heritage? Also check out Dark Greener because Luna is pretty common and you might be out of touch with common and uncommon names.

BrightSpells · 04/02/2019 12:40

Arabella was my first thought

Grinchly · 04/02/2019 12:42

Could you perhaps post a few sample paragraphs, OP, so we could get a better idea?

Carouselfish · 05/02/2019 12:27

Elise, Minette, Neva, Brooke, Sylvie, Eden. (also might want to consider giving her some flaws as she sounds a bit saccharine).

ZebraKid71 · 05/02/2019 15:35

Is the OP American?? The posts, suggested names and references to her being "Asian" then clarified as Chinese all seem very American to me. In which case, it may be worth posting this on an American site.

KatyMac · 05/02/2019 15:58

Rather than a ballerina - I wonder if she just goes to class 2-3 times a week leaving enough time for being outside and having animals

Lara53 · 05/02/2019 21:38

Kaiya - means from the earth

Forgottenmypassword · 05/02/2019 21:56

Is it not a children's book? A ballerina who dances through the forest sounds fine if it's for kids. I'm not sure it needs to be so true to life that her feet bleed and she necks vodka on her day off.

OP?

Not keen on the shortlist of names though. Sorry.
