I think it's lovely. Sweet and simple. Just quite 'of the moment' if that bothers you.

KikiG18 · 12/11/2018 15:10

Beautiful name! Not popular but not completely out there and unheard of either. I really like it

Ohyesiam · 12/11/2018 15:12

Really lovely.

babypsmum · 12/11/2018 15:15

Love!

Jesscaar · 12/11/2018 15:16

I know a Wren! She's about 7 or 8 now I think - haven't seen her in a while, but she's a very independent young lady!

RomaineCalm · 12/11/2018 15:17

I'm sorry but I'm not keen. I would assume that it was 'Ren' and a nickname for something else - Lauren, Karen, Renata...

Creepyexgirlfriend · 12/11/2018 15:17

I think of Ren.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 12/11/2018 15:18

I love it. I've met three little Wrens since DS (3) was born, so it's definitely gaining popularity where we live (London).

PinkAvocado · 12/11/2018 15:19

Awful. It’s a small bird. Great if you are petite but pretty mocking if you’re not.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 12/11/2018 15:22

Great if you are petite but pretty mocking if you’re not.

Actually, good point. All the ones I've met are tiny little girls - might be incongrouous as a strapping Amazonian adult.

NinjaGoSaysNo · 12/11/2018 15:23

I like it, but agree it might not suit an adult if she doesn't look "bird like" for want of a better phrase.

Orchidflower1 · 12/11/2018 15:25

Sorry to go against the majority but it just makes me think of the kitchen suppliers! To be fair we are looking into work in the house so it’s fresh in my mind!

HopeHopity · 12/11/2018 15:32

LOVE IT
That was on my list 💙💙💙💙

L0kiWh0 · 12/11/2018 15:42

As long as she doesn’t have a sibling called Stimpy then it’s fine

Sophronia · 12/11/2018 16:09

Makes me think of Ren and Stimpy.

PippilottaLongstocking · 12/11/2018 16:10

I think it’s lovely

Ploppymoodypants · 12/11/2018 16:13

I love it. Beautiful name.
Wren.
Lovely.

Although Ren and Stimpy is horrible...

Ontopofthesunset · 12/11/2018 16:14

This hasn't made the transition from bird to name for me. Wrens are quite attractive small birds but nothing special - and they are very small.

I don't like the way it looks (the first part of the word 'wrench' and Christopher Wren, because of the initial capital letter, are the first things I think of). Then I think of Wrens as in the WRNS - women's navy.

And I don't like the way it sounds - unfinished, as if it's short for Renata or Lorenzo or something.

donkey86 · 12/11/2018 16:16

It’s lovely, but I’ve met three Wrens under 18months recently, so I think it’s really taking off.

sylviec · 12/11/2018 16:22

I'm so gutted it's becoming popular recently!

saganorenscarandcoat · 12/11/2018 16:25

It's lovely

daisypond · 12/11/2018 16:26

I think it's awful - tiny nondescript bird. Why would you name a woman after one?

SoupDragon · 12/11/2018 16:28

It's one of DD's nicknames but it's not her actual name.

She is so not a tiny songbird though!

sylviec · 12/11/2018 16:29

@SoupDragon Is that a shortening of her full name?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 12/11/2018 16:29

Wrens may be small and nondescript but they have amazing songs.
