Helen George from CTM has called her daughter Wren Ivy.

sylviec · 12/11/2018 19:24

If I do choose Wren, middle name will be Rose.

Wren Rose

That’s tricky to say!

MarshaBradyo · 12/11/2018 19:48

I’m not keen but it does usually seem well-liked on mn

sylviec · 12/11/2018 19:49

Two monosyllabic words, tricky? Really?

Personally I don't like it.

I agree with PP that it's the name of a tiny little boring brown pecking bird.

Scientistic · 12/11/2018 21:39

Love the name. But agree it's hard with the middle name, doesn't roll off the tongue right. Rosalie maybe?

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 12/11/2018 23:30

Do they have any nicknames for her? Like Wrennie or?

Oh that makes it even worse... indigestion medication!

FartnissEverbeans · 13/11/2018 02:59

Awful. It’s a small bird.

Like a Robin...?

FartnissEverbeans · 13/11/2018 03:00

I think Wren Rose doesn’t quite work, although both names are beautiful individually. Wren Rosalie maybe?

toffee1000 · 13/11/2018 03:45

It’s not tricky, just a bit alliterative, unless that’s something you like.

I wouldn’t call my daughter Wren. It’s not really a name to me, but that’s just because it’s not in common usage. I don’t know many young children so am not really au fait with current trends.

If you want it, go for it. I’ve seen worse suggestions on here.

TinyRick · 13/11/2018 04:05

Love it.

Fern was also on my list.

IdblowJonSnow · 13/11/2018 04:09

I don't like it, do you like bird names in general, ie, robin or Lynette, or is it just the sound of wren?

Sungura · 13/11/2018 04:39

I adore it, personally. If you love it, maybe you can get past the popularity. It's a minor issue when you really love a name, I think.

CanYuFeelIt · 13/11/2018 05:07

Wren is lovely but Wren Rose doesn't work together- it's hard to say, I think it's the two "R" sounds close together.

Athrawes · 13/11/2018 05:33

Linnet maybe

Aebj · 13/11/2018 05:38

I’m not a fan of the name sorry .
Maybe she will get called Jenny ( Jenny Wren?)
I also thought if the WRNS ( womens Royal Navy)

PenelopeFlintstone · 13/11/2018 05:39

Daisys are small and nondescript. Ponds are small and pointless. Why would you name yourself after them? Shock Shock

Australian wrens are nice. I don't really like the name. Some names might be too flowery but it's not flowery at all Yeah, yeah, I know it's a bird not a flower.

I like it. I've heard it a lot more for boys recently, but I prefer it for girls.

RedDwarves · 13/11/2018 07:41

Love Wren.
