What name would you never use? There has to be a good reason! Ie school enemies/murderers/funny connotations!

What name would you never use for your child?
It could be that there are connotations or reminders of others.

Sophronia · 29/11/2018 11:49

Amy/Amie/Aimee - never met a nice one, same with Laura

BigGlasses · 29/11/2018 13:35

Any virture name: Chastity, Constance, Prudence, Honor, Prosper, Valor etc. I even count Grace in this. Why would you burden your child with something like that, just makes people focus on whether you actually have that virtue (invariably not)

Kissel · 29/11/2018 13:46

Poo my name is on here!

MonkeyToucher · 29/11/2018 17:39

Never met a Lewis that wasn’t a bit of a thug...

TurquoiseDress · 29/11/2018 22:37

Rachel- that was name of my boss who was the "bitch from hell, hated by all" manager! she made my life utterly bloody miserable!

Yidette86 · 29/11/2018 23:34

Christina - proper evil bitch that was a pathological liar, also looked like a cross between Vicky Pollard and Mr T

Lauren - most I've met are very nosey and a bit shit stirry

Emma - known some lovely ones but also some right twat waffles

Lewis - all I've met have been spineless backstabbers

Callum - just trouble

Ooh this is fun lol

Yidette86 · 29/11/2018 23:36

Nevaeh - why the fuck would anyone name their child "heaven" backwards?

OhTheRoses · 29/11/2018 23:50

Kim, Carol, Nigel, Cherie, Richard (never known one who isn't a dick), Wendy, Shelley, Meghan. And I just don't like Sophie (soapy Sophie).

craftymum01 · 29/11/2018 23:51

Michelle - utter bitch boss who I wanted to run down.

Louis, Sophie, Tyler, Callum, Thomas - naughty children names

Margaret - we have an unfortunate surname

Greensleeves · 29/11/2018 23:56

Amy (never met one who wasn't passive-aggressive and whiny)

Rachel (wet relative)

Katharine (school horror)

Margaret/Maggie (can only ever be Thatcher to me)

fleshmarketclose · 30/11/2018 00:05

Another vote for Lewis the three I know are aggressive mindless thugs.
Nicola really horrible to me at school
My own name because it is awful always on these sorts of lists and dd when younger asked me if my parents gave me this name because they didn't like me Hmm so think it's safe to say it's not a nice name.

stillreadviz · 30/11/2018 00:19

Heidi - an evil ex boss who got me sacked for calling in sick because I was too traumatised to face her bullying (many moons ago,)
All Helens are evil ime Hmm

PrincessDando · 30/11/2018 08:53

Chardonnay I never actually believed this was anyone's real name until I met one in real life, why the fuck would you name your child after a type of wine, and a shit wine at that?

Tadda · 30/11/2018 09:03

I think obvious notorious criminals are always a no go...but our surname Kelly and even tho Dd1 middle name Grace, other 'famous' have to be off list, also rhyming names - why would you!

I do like alliterations tho...

TheMythicalChicken · 30/11/2018 09:10

Agree that all Simons are arses.

DwangelaForever · 30/11/2018 10:03

My husband liked the name Theodore and I liked Theo, we then realised that's Ted Bundys real name , needless to say our son is called Lewis (even though I hate Lewis hamilton but at least he's not a serial killer) 😂

DwangelaForever · 30/11/2018 10:09

I'm now fearing for my poor son being a "mindless thug" the only other Lewis' I know are pure gentlemen, one is an up and coming boxing champion!

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 30/11/2018 10:16

Louise. Every one I've met has been a bitch.

Would never use Myra as only one I know is Hindley.

Tadda · 01/12/2018 04:54

@crafty I'm guessing Thatcher..... :)

Fuglywitch · 01/12/2018 05:59

Lookingthroughthel it could be tho, that the one that doesn't fit, is a half sibling? For names i wouldn't use, Cheryl, kirsty and amy were bullies, so they're out and francis was another bully. Also I'm not keen on the sibling themes either. E.G rose and lily, dave, dawn and debbie or similar.

Outfoxed · 01/12/2018 06:04

Joanna, my primary school tormentor. And Hannah Katie And Gemma, middle school tormentors. They’re all out the window.
Jeremy because I don’t believe there has ever existed a Jeremy who wasn’t a tosser but that might be coloured by school memories too!

Fuglywitch · 01/12/2018 06:06

Also not keen on kids being named after computer game characters etc. Plus regular names given weird spellings. E.G dayzee, kloe, etc.

Donthugmeimscared · 01/12/2018 06:11

Zoe, Joanna and Danielle were my school bullies.

KiplingAngelCake · 04/12/2018 10:16

Nicola, Lisa, Rhian, Tracy, Celia - nasty girls at my school
