What name would you never use? There has to be a good reason! Ie school enemies/murderers/funny connotations!

What name would you never use for your child?
It could be that there are connotations or reminders of others.

Richard. Bullied me relentlessly at university.

Another one for Craig.

He was also snotty, like one of those kids who never learns to wipe their nose on anything but a sleeve... Permanently dripping...

Jasper. Love the name but never met a nice one.

Oscar. Equally love the name but never met a nice one.

Paul. Never met one who was nice, had any hair, or wasn't mean and bald,

Bradley. Everyone I've met has been a bit slow on the uptake/ not the sharpest tool in the box.

James or derivatives, never met a nice one and dated more than one bad one 😂

Anything too Irish. I have Irish heritage and love the names but English people often have no idea how to pronounce them due to the spellings.

Anything hard to spell or say equally. No one ever says my name right or spells it right and it used to piss me off when I was young.

Imogen.

A beautiful name but an ex once sang "IMO-gen all the people......" And now that's all I think again when I hear it!

There are a few on here that make me think ohhh, do we know the same people?! as I'm laughing and nodding in recognition at the descriptions.

Amelia - I love the name but couldn't bring myself to use it as every girl I've ever taught with the name (around 6 different Amelias) has struggled or had a terrible life event. I know it is just a very weird coincidence but it sticks in my mind.

Sapphire, Saffy, Rocky - the names I gave to my dolls when I was a child thinking they were the most perfect names.

Lewis. He was the fat kid in primary school.

I had to rule out Sam because of our surname, it would have been ridiculous.

Matilda. All brats ime.

Chantal/Shantell - every one I've ever met has been a fucking shocker.

Victoria/Vicky/Tory is standoffish.
Carly is mean.
Adam is a cheater.
Donald is a misogynistic, racist, homophobic scumbag.

Lucy- my lovely grandma had a sil called Lucy and she wasn't very nice to my grandma.
Harvey- reminds me of an awful boy at school.

Amelia - my primary school enemy and secondary school enemy were both called Amelia (though the second one was Millie for short)

Adolphus - i’ve loved this name ever since listening to the audiobook of Adolphus Tips by Morpurgo, but it’s just too close to Adolf!

Rebecca - horrible girl at school

Yes to pps - how could I have forgotten about Donald because the Trump? A great Scottish name now forever ruined.

Tracy/Tracey - aggressive, mean, smoking, gossip, IME.

Peter - a boss i couldn't stand.
Philip - a choirmaster i couldn't stand
David - a choirmaster i couldn't cope with.

Simon. Because every Simon I encounter is an arse. Even strangers on Facebook chat groups prove themselves to be twats. Something genuinely wrong with this name.

Expect to be flamed but, to me, Stephanie = fat girl's name.

Gertrude. Sounds like someone about to be sick.

Violet. It's just an N away from violent.

Jeremys are always too pompous.

Joanne, Joanna, Jo...any derivative.
