Opinions on the name?
What gender would you associate it with?

As in Thor's brother??

BWatchWatcher · 24/09/2018 21:05

Uhm Norse mythology and Thor comics. Do not do this to your child.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 24/09/2018 21:06

I would assume you were talking about the lochia after the birth. . Grim - sorry.

Dljlr · 24/09/2018 21:06

An angry computer Lego character from my son's shit Lego marvel game. Or a boring-sounding wedding (low-key).

Pixilicious · 24/09/2018 21:06

No

Perfectly1mperfect · 24/09/2018 21:08

I would think it's a boys name due to the Marvel character. I don't like it, sorry.

1sttimeDD · 24/09/2018 21:10

A pet, yes. A child, no.

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 24/09/2018 21:11

Definitely a boy. He is a norse god, and iirc not a very nice character.

Ioki · 24/09/2018 21:11

You called?
;)

...but no. Thor’s brother, the God of mischief and lies, treacherous, murders for fun, played a game of tug of war that involved a goat and his own testicles... don’t do it to your child, as awesome of a name I think it is and as much as I love Loki... don’t do it. Save it for a dog, a cat, a horse if you have to use it. :)

cricketmum84 · 24/09/2018 21:12

Sorry - it's a cats name!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 24/09/2018 21:12

..but no. Thor’s brother, the God of mischief and lies, treacherous, murders for fun, played a game of tug of war that involved a goat and his own testicles..

This. It's a great name; but not for a child.

Shockers · 24/09/2018 21:12

It’s my friend’s dog’s name, so makes me think of licky black Labradors.

Ohyesiam · 24/09/2018 21:13

You’d have to send him to a steiner schoolWink

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 24/09/2018 21:13

I also know a cat called loki. It's a good name, for a cat.

HopeGarden · 24/09/2018 21:13

Boys name as per the male Norse god / male Marvel character. Not yhe pleasantest character to name a child after.

sonlypuppyfat · 24/09/2018 21:13

I know a Loki, it's not good is it

Merename · 24/09/2018 21:14

It’s a bit out there but I don’t hate it. Definitely male in my mind.

Faroutbrussel · 24/09/2018 21:15

I would call him Lachlan with nn Loki.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 24/09/2018 21:16

I actually like it, despite its association.

Cindersdonegood · 24/09/2018 21:17

I love the name Loki.
For my cat. He had a kitty brother called Thor.

I like the idea of Lachlan with the nickname of Loki though.

dinosaurkisses · 24/09/2018 21:17

I’d assume that the parents had named him after the Marvel character and hadn’t bothered Googling the name where they would have surely seen that it’s also the name of a particularly dark character from Norse mythology.

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 24/09/2018 21:17

Also the character in the film Dogma

PinkAvocado · 24/09/2018 21:18

I like the name in terms of how it looks and sounds but would not call a child it due to how known the Marvel character is. I would assume male.

DBN1 · 24/09/2018 21:18

No. Just no, OP.

Unicornandbows · 24/09/2018 21:19

Thors brother..
