Has anyone ever heard of someone naming a boy Fox ? Friend wants to use this but not sure it’s a good idea. It’s their choice obviously but would anyone say anything ?

Not that different to Bear or Tiger, both of which are us d for boys.

QuestionableMouse · 16/09/2018 12:21

No.

Fox is not a name.

Sunflower321 · 16/09/2018 12:22

Interesting question about what makes a name? All names were once made up or created!

bonfireheart · 16/09/2018 12:35

Bears are considered cute. Tiger as strong.
"Fox" just makes me think cunning n sly.

weebarra · 16/09/2018 12:36

I know a five year old girl called Fox. It really suits her.

RavenWings · 16/09/2018 12:37

It's stupid imo. As are Bear and Tiger.

SuperstarDJ · 16/09/2018 12:37

I think it was very popular in East London about 8 yrs ago. Probably considered a bit passè there now.

Katnisnevergreen · 16/09/2018 12:37

If dd were a boy then Fox was too of my list. I really like it as a name. Unusual but not too weird. And it works for Mulder

Pannalash · 16/09/2018 12:38

Love it ....Fox Mulder

NothingOnTellyAgain · 16/09/2018 12:40

mulder

or

there's a couple called "fox and owl" who are in the newspapers sometimes

I say no tbh

but

up to you

DrZoidbergsTentacles · 16/09/2018 12:41

Fox Mulder from the X Files of course! I love it.

LeeMiller · 16/09/2018 12:45

I would assume the parents were X Files fans.

TheDropBear · 16/09/2018 12:46

The only one I've heard of is the couple called Fox and Owl mentioned upthread but those aren't their birth names.
I don't like it, or bear or tiger, they're nicknames not real names.

MsMiaWallace · 16/09/2018 12:47

I know of a little girl called Fox.

Sleepykate · 16/09/2018 13:01

Apparently it's a new 'craze' according to baby naming sites but I've not heard anyone use it. I'd not be thrilled if it was my name.

Dragonlight · 16/09/2018 13:05

Yep, Mulder. It's a cute name.

wouldHAVEshouldHAVEcouldHAVE · 16/09/2018 13:45

It’s cool! Makes a change from another bloody boring Oliver.

Susannach · 16/09/2018 13:50

I know one. It strikes me as a very deliberately “cool” choice, but I think it’s perfectly usable and wearable.

wildewillow · 16/09/2018 13:52

Love it! It's on our list for middle names.

Rocki · 16/09/2018 13:55

As a middle name it would work well

OP posts:
Shadow1234 · 16/09/2018 13:57

As long as her surname isnt. 'Hunt'

Neolara · 16/09/2018 13:57

I know a boy called Fox. Cute.

MozzieMagnet · 16/09/2018 14:07

I missed a trick with my matchy names - could have had Fox, Wolf, Bear, Tiger and Hunter not helpful
You could play Ylvis a lot as Fox is babbling....

daisypond · 16/09/2018 14:09

I know a Fox - in his late 20s now. X Files inspired, I think. But it's a middle name, not a first name.

QueenOfMyWorld · 16/09/2018 14:14

A wonan from an American reality programme called her son Phox
