What’s Coco short for?

Love the name Coco for a girl but would prefer a longer, more traditional name for birth certificate and to use Coco as a nickname. What could Coco be short for? I can think of Cora, Coralie, Chloe...

I once knew a girl known as Coco - but it was her initials. Obviously won't give her real name, but it was along the lines of:

Caroline Orla Cox-Oakley

You probably don't have a C-O double barrelled surname, but you could give her a C first name and O middle name, and get the Coco nickname from that.

Margaurette · 12/08/2018 15:52

I went to school with a Coco who had that as a full name.

She got expelled for drugs and shagging, but I'm sure that wasn't anything to do with her name.

Coco Chanel was called Gabrielle, so you could try that - bit of a stretch, though.

A former colleague called Colette went by the nickname Coco.

PalePinkSwan · 12/08/2018 15:55

Coralie was my first thought, and that’s a lovely name.

Chloe 💖 Carolina 💖 Cordelia 💖

Firtreefir · 12/08/2018 15:58

Caroline - it has a C and an O in there, so could work
Colleen/Colette
Constance/Connie
Corinne
Cordelia/Cornelia
Catriona

I like it on its own. It's a bit of a leap to say it's short for Cora, Chloe etc.

NotAnotherHeffalump · 12/08/2018 15:59

Coconut Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 12/08/2018 16:01

Grin yep that would do.

kaylanelson · 12/08/2018 16:02

Or you could just make her coco on the birth certificate , I love this name!

bridgetreilly · 12/08/2018 16:04

Coraline

Greenandcabbagelooking · 12/08/2018 16:04

The Coco I know is called Constance , and is about 11 years old.

Lucked · 12/08/2018 16:08

Constantina Cordelia

Everyone will be delighted you have her a nickname.Grin

flumpybear · 12/08/2018 16:27

Whatever you want! To be honest I always wanted my DD nickname to be Tigs or tiggy ... she's a tabby though and loves it (name is Tabitha)
Chose the name you want not the nickname

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 12/08/2018 16:29

Collette as far as I’m aware

NotUmbongoUnchained · 12/08/2018 16:30

I know 3 Coco’s! They’re all Chloe.

FlatPackFurnitureCompAnyone · 12/08/2018 16:31

Gabrielle, obviously.

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/08/2018 17:32

I know a little girl called courtney and her mum calls her Coco. Really cute nickname!

daisypond · 12/08/2018 17:34

I know a teenage Coco. It's not short for anything. It wouldn't be my choice, though it's nice as a short form. Cosima? Or Nicole?

Imnotacelebgetmeouttahere · 12/08/2018 17:41

I have a son whose nickname / shortened name is coco... it makes me smile everytime i say it Blush

MrsRachel85 · 12/08/2018 17:45

To be honest I’m not sure what’s holding me back from using Coco on it’s own. Feels a bit too ‘out there’ and worried it might not grow with her i.e. cute on a little girl, too cutesy for a grown up? Thought having a more traditional name to use instead (if she prefers) would be better. But I’m so unsure. Maybe I should just go for it if I love it
