We just cannot agree. Our baby boy is 9 days old. This is our first baby together - I have 3 others and DH has 4 others. Our naming style is just SO different.

I have namechanged in order to give you our other kids names.

His are Olivia, Jacob, Thomas and Joshua

Mine are Everley "Evvie", Embry and Easton. The "E" theme was not intended so not fussed eithe way if baby girl has an E name.

For this baby I adore the following:

Aubree
Kinsley
Sydney
Mallory

DH really wants Lorna- his mum and her idential twin sister were Lorraine and Laura. He likes Lorna to honour them both. I'm happy to have this as a middle name but not a first name.

Other than Lorna, the only other girls name he will even consider is Courtney which I really dislike.

What on earth are we going to name our girl??

There are some really awful names suggested on this thread!

OP I like Everley too.

TomMarkle · 09/06/2018 17:23

Your partner is being very closed minded. Who gave birth to this baby, you or him? It's nice if it can be a joint decision but if he is going to be so pig headed then I don't think I would listen to his choices at all. Why would you want your daughter's name to be a tribute to your MIL and her sister? What about your own female relatives?

Give him a list of 5 names you would be happy to use. You have to be ok with all of them. Let him choose 2. You then decide which of the 2 it will be and Lorna goes in the middle.

daisypond · 09/06/2018 17:25

Cora or Cara or Carina or Cosima instead of Courtney?

auntyflonono · 09/06/2018 17:46

Has to be Octavia really, nothing else will do!

Grasslands · 09/06/2018 17:52

I have a beautiful granddaughter named Everly 🤗
Nothing else useful to add to the thread.

marshmy · 09/06/2018 19:46

my daughters called mallory Smile i do get some comments about it being 'american' but honestly don't let it phase me, don't see what the issue would be with it being american, mallory lorna sounds lovely!

Bubblesoup · 09/06/2018 21:02

I think you should forget Aubree as it clashes with Embry.

I much prefer his names, sorry. I like the suggestions of Molly or Audrey, or Lara.

Congratulations on your baby!

bobstersmum · 09/06/2018 21:05

What about Emily, to continue your non intentional E theme but sort of fits in with his type of names?

IfYouDontImagineNothingHappens · 09/06/2018 21:23

Emily totally works!

DunRoaming · 09/06/2018 21:29

Eleonora

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 09/06/2018 21:35

Sorry but they're all terrible apart from Lorna. Pick that.

twerkit · 10/06/2018 05:57

Leanna
Lilah
Lola

FizzyGreenWater · 10/06/2018 16:35

Sydney is lovely.

If the surname is going to be his (and no, you don't have to agree to that...) and the middle name is from his side too, then you get the first name.

The most traditional of your choices is Sydney, and it's lovely.

Sydney Lorna.

RonWeasleysMum · 10/06/2018 16:43

Dh has said we can call her Kinley not Kinsley! I'm happy with that.
So her name is Kinley Lorna 😊

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 10/06/2018 16:51

Why Kinley? It looks like it short for something.

I would think twice and then again OP. If I was your DD and you'd named me Kinley I would be changing it as soon as was old enough. Sorry I know you won't want to hear that.

Why not Lorna Kinley?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/06/2018 16:53

I’d assume she was Chinese. Kin Lee. Strange name.

ohgohome · 10/06/2018 16:54

It’s like kidney!

lhavepassport · 10/06/2018 17:36

It might be easier for Dd if you call her Lorna Kinley. Kinsley is a name I come across in USA. Kinley is an unusual choice for a girl particularly in the UK, I cannot remember having heard it before.

GameFrame · 10/06/2018 17:37

Octavia

AnyaMoondial · 10/06/2018 17:59

Congratulations op, glad you've found a name you both love.

FizzyGreenWater · 10/06/2018 18:03

Kinley?

Err ok

Cosmoa · 10/06/2018 18:12

Ahh OP Kinley is as gorgeous name! LOVE it!

Enjoy your new baby girl Flowers

HarryLovesDraco · 10/06/2018 18:39

What does Kinley even mean Confused
Oh well, crack on!

RonWeasleysMum · 10/06/2018 19:51

Uhhhh he now hates Kinley 😢

I do like Lorna but don't love it.

I'm not surprised OP. It's terrible. Try and find something you both really like.

What about Laura?
