We just cannot agree. Our baby boy is 9 days old. This is our first baby together - I have 3 others and DH has 4 others. Our naming style is just SO different.

I have namechanged in order to give you our other kids names.

His are Olivia, Jacob, Thomas and Joshua

Mine are Everley "Evvie", Embry and Easton. The "E" theme was not intended so not fussed eithe way if baby girl has an E name.

For this baby I adore the following:

Aubree
Kinsley
Sydney
Mallory

DH really wants Lorna- his mum and her idential twin sister were Lorraine and Laura. He likes Lorna to honour them both. I'm happy to have this as a middle name but not a first name.

Other than Lorna, the only other girls name he will even consider is Courtney which I really dislike.

What on earth are we going to name our girl??

Mallory Lorna is lovely ! 😀

daisypond · 09/06/2018 12:30

How about Malorie, as in the children's author Malorie Blackman?

Toofle · 09/06/2018 12:31

Octavia, obviously.

daisypond · 09/06/2018 12:33

Toofle - good one!

IamXXHearMeRoar · 09/06/2018 12:39

Octavia

IamXXHearMeRoar · 09/06/2018 12:41

(spot the latin students of yore!)

MrsBertBibby · 09/06/2018 12:53

Lorna and Mallory are the best of your bunch.

Would Lara or Lana suit?

MiniAlphaBravo · 09/06/2018 13:25

Definitely Octavia Lorna

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/06/2018 13:29

Lorna is lovely.

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/06/2018 13:34

Lorna is lovely it's a shame you don't like it

Out of your choices i only like Sydney but I do prefer Lorna.

qwertyuiopy · 09/06/2018 13:42

His names are gorgeous! Lorna is gorgeous. Sorry Blush but your names are rather downmarket.

pieceofpurplesky · 09/06/2018 13:46

As pp says Lola

lhavepassport · 09/06/2018 13:47

I lean towards your DP's more traditional names and like Lorna. I wouldn't choose any on your more modern list. Maybe Laurel?

fleshmarketclose · 09/06/2018 14:18

Yes let DP pick his names are much nicer. Lorna is lovely as well but maybe Lauren, Laurel, Lorelei could be a compromise. I don't like any of the names you suggest sorry they remind me of those terrible American sitcoms my dd watched "Saved by the Bell" and suchlike.

Cariadxx · 09/06/2018 15:23

Lorelei is awful. It's the name of an evil mermaid who lured sailors to their death

HeyDolly · 09/06/2018 15:54

Audrey Lorna is nice

SilverySurfer · 09/06/2018 16:31

Definitely Octavia

LoislovesStewie · 09/06/2018 16:36

Lorna.Not keen on your choices.

HarryLovesDraco · 09/06/2018 17:01

Lorna is lovely, why won't you have that as the first name?
Aubrey is a boy's name and anything spelt with a double E is not great. Kinsley and Sydney are horrible on girls. Mallory is nice enough but honestly I'd have Lorna Mallory rather than the other way around.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/06/2018 17:11

Octavia is the obvious name.

Can’t see OP choosing that though Grin

neurotransmittens · 09/06/2018 17:12

I like Mallory from your list

Romy, Lacey, Darcey, Hayley? (ee endings)
Eloise, Skylar, Audra, Lydia, Lorelei

RonWeasleysMum · 09/06/2018 17:16

Thank you for all your comments... Everley is a girl for the person who asked.

I know my names are not to everyones tastes but I adore them Smile

If you're looking to mix Laura and Lorraine might Aurora give you an alternative to Lorna? Lauryn?
