Correct @LadyGAgain!

Matthew to his friends is likely known as Matt - you walk on a mat. (GROAN!)Grin

The second sentence references the twelve apostles, of which Matthew was one.

The actors include Matthews Broderick, McConaughey, Damon, Perry, LeBlanc and Fox. And the cartoonist is Matt Groening (The Simpsons).

LadyGAgain · 27/03/2019 18:02

Yay!! Great clues @finallychangedmyusername Thank you!

Ok, not had a lot of time on this one so I hope it makes sense.

He’s hated by the minority.
She became famous for kissing a mischievous gangster.
He or she could be Scottish.

finallychangedmyusername · 27/03/2019 20:11

Mackenzie?

LadyGAgain · 27/03/2019 20:13

Sorry nope.

finallychangedmyusername · 28/03/2019 18:17

Blair?

finallychangedmyusername · 28/03/2019 18:24

Ooh no.... Cameron!

Cameron Diaz became famous playing opposite Jim Carrey in the Mask
Cameron is a Scottish name
David Cameron... Not all that popular with everyone Grin

LadyGAgain · 28/03/2019 20:30

BINGO! Well done @finallychangedmyusername - over to you Grin

finallychangedmyusername · 28/03/2019 21:24

Superb @LadyGAgain! Smile

Miss Green doesn't find cheesy jokes about this naming lark particularly humourous.
She's related to a young lady hailing from Wessex and a cheeky politician. Finally, this may be a timely clue.

LadyGAgain · 28/03/2019 23:17

Rachel?

finallychangedmyusername · 29/03/2019 11:27

Not Rachel sorry.

LadyGAgain · 30/03/2019 09:06

Jane?

Thequeenspug · 30/03/2019 09:11

Boris?

Thequeenspug · 30/03/2019 09:11

Oh sorry just read you said “she”

finallychangedmyusername · 30/03/2019 16:39

Sorry, no one has it yet. The last sentence is probably the most helpful - think about when I posted the clue.

LadyGAgain · 30/03/2019 22:34

Ok so not sure that Spring is a name (Spring Green Grin) so I'm going with May or April?

finallychangedmyusername · 30/03/2019 22:59

No but you're close with your guesses @LadyGAgain!

finallychangedmyusername · 30/03/2019 23:00

I should probably add, I was a day "early" in posting my clue.

LadyGAgain · 31/03/2019 07:26

Theresa!

finallychangedmyusername · 31/03/2019 10:35

Haha, yep, I went with topical!

The cheesy joke is "Theresa Green" - "trees are green"... Grin
I'll get my coat. Blush

Tess of the D'Ubervilles hailed from Wessex and the "cheeky" politician is Tessa Jowell. Tess and Tessa are both related to Theresa.

LadyGAgain · 31/03/2019 19:29

Great clues @finallychangedmyusername . I need to recharge my brain.
I think this one is probably a bit simple for you but it's all I can muster today Grin

With a love of fast cars this one’s marmite and generally divisive. He’s asking you for control. Formally responsible for one of the world’s biggest employers, code name Lavender now prefers a much more high profile role.

finallychangedmyusername · 01/04/2019 21:25

Tristan?

LadyGAgain · 01/04/2019 21:41

Sorry @finallychangedmyusername , not Tristan

finallychangedmyusername · 01/04/2019 21:53

I keep coming back to Jeremy..... am I close?! Confused

LadyGAgain · 01/04/2019 22:45

Yup!! You've done it! You wanna know why?

LadyGAgain · 01/04/2019 22:57

Actually I'll just say as you got it!
Fast cars and marmite - Jeremy clarkson but leads into Corbyn with power. Hunt was running the NHS now is home sec known as Lavender in Bodyguard.

Over to you !
