I once worked with a person who'd gone to school with a girl called Myrtle Turtle. I have never stopped loving that.

Any others?

(Not in the spirit of taking the piss out of people's choices, more in the sense of acknowledging parents' genius)

When I was a nursery school there was a girl called Crystal Belle, I thought it was the most beautiful name I'd ever heard.

My best friend at Primary School was Fung Ying Ho. I thought it was an amazing name.

We turned up first day at High School and her name was changed to Anne. I was so upset.

Also when I was graduating and was nervous as hell about walking up in front of everyone the lad's name called before mine was "Hin Too Houdini Wu" which caused me to nervously snort with laughter. I'm not sure why, I think it was the Houdini.

I went to school with a David Davies, someone I used to work with was scaled Scott Brown but when he was young his dad died, mum got remarried and partner adopted him so they double barrelled his surname... Scott Brown-Scott. Why! . I also worked with a Tom Jones. Good friends with a Steve Irwin too!

I knew a Susie Woosey. It was her married name as well so she'd willingly taken that.
She used to laugh about it herself.
I also knew a Morag Mole which I thought was very cute but she was less keen on.

I came across a musician called John Thomas Willey - he was a fiddler in the Sadlers Wells ballet orchestra many years ago.

There was a church choir in Victorian London called the Choir of Our Souls.

A composer called Samuel Schiedt who wrote a piece called "The Dump."

There's a road in Oxford named after a professor of music whose name was William Crotch - Crotch Crescent. Grin

My nan’s elderly neighbour is called Michael Jackson. He predates ‘the’ Michael Jackson but as kids we used to think it was really funny.
