I know someone who dubbed herself Ibby because she struggled to pronounce Elizabeth as a young child - went from Ibbabeth to Ibby or Ibs

Wow, thanks for the responses all!

I'm surprised by the number of Lizzie's and Libby's - I had thought it would be mostly Betsy's and Elsie's these days.

Is Pip a standard pet name for Elizabeth? I knew one at school but had always assumed it was just a random nn Hmm

I wanted to call DD Elizabeth but use Lizzie day to day. Got vetoed Sad She’s 3.

Know another Elizabeth who’s name is never shortened. She’s 6.
