For a girl that is, as I've occasionally heard these names used on boys.

Jade

Costaricachica · 11/04/2018 07:59

Actually prefer Jada to Jade though

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/04/2018 08:07

Jade.

auntyflonono · 11/04/2018 08:33

Erin also Aerin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/04/2018 09:00

Erin by a million miles. Jade is tacky. However I have to say this. All that Jades I've known have been lovely.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/04/2018 09:02

What Region are you from. I've never heard of either of these names being used for boys.

applecatchers36 · 11/04/2018 09:04

Erin

BossWitch · 11/04/2018 09:04

Erin. By a country mile!

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 11/04/2018 09:05

See, I think Jade is actually a really nice name, and it's a precious stone, and has a nice sound.

But for me it just brings up connotations of year 9 girls strutting around school with too short skirts and no ties, circa 1996!

On balance I think Erin is better.

Emma Buntons partner (who was also in the boy band Damage) is called Jade isn't he? He is the only male Jade I have heard of though. Not heard of Erin for a boy!

Strugglingtodomybest · 11/04/2018 09:08

Erin

Threeandabit · 11/04/2018 10:58

I prefer Jade. Erin reminds me of neighbours (Erinsborough). Also makes me think of Derry Girls.

RedDwarves · 11/04/2018 10:59

Erin, absolutely.

DramaAlpaca · 11/04/2018 11:00

I like Erin better.

Jade, while pretty, is very dated to my ears.

Luckingfovely · 11/04/2018 11:00

Erin x a million.

celticmissey · 11/04/2018 11:03

Erin definately although Jade would be nice as the middle name

stateschool · 11/04/2018 11:05

Erin, never met a "Jade" I liked, never met a not nice Erin!

babster · 11/04/2018 11:05

I love the name Erin but dh wasn't keen to use it because in Ireland it's a brand of soup (taking Maggi off the list too).

Cloudhopping · 11/04/2018 11:10

Erin. Best name ever.

crisscrosscranky · 11/04/2018 11:13

Jade is very 90's but I suspect those names will be back in fashion in a few years if you want to be a trendsetter!

Erin is lovely but very popular at the moment

AriaMontgom · 11/04/2018 11:16

Erin

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 11/04/2018 11:19

Erin.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 11/04/2018 11:20

Erin

OOMG · 11/04/2018 11:21

From the two options - Erin.

pipilangstrumpf · 11/04/2018 11:28

Jade is much more feminine sounding. Erin sounds masculine imo. But I agree that Jade is a little dated sounding. So I'd choose neither Smile
