Email from friend about my baby's name

I've just had DD, she is a whole 5 days old and we thought we'd picked a good name, but I've just received an email from a family friend saying that it's a terrible name.
Please tell me straight, is Ophelia Elizabeth Cole a horrible name?

It's an absolutely fantastic name!! My DP won't let me have Ophelia. I loved it as soon as I saw Pan's Labyrinth. He's right, it sounds silly with his surname (almost rhymes).

It’s not to my personal taste but there’s nothing wrong with it at all. It’s incredibly rude of your “friend” to go out of their way to tell you they hate it.

My cousins just had a baby and I’m not a fan of the name (nothing wrong with it, just not my taste at all) I would never say anything to her except “oh he’s so cute” because it’s not my business.

I love the names - but say Ophelia Cole out loud and think as a child/teen.

I love the name Ophelia and it's very beautiful (Shakespeare's dark connotations and all)...

However, it's really awkward with the surname Cole. Especially when said out loud. I'm sorry, OP, but it's the truth.

It is a lovely name. But reminds me of my Gran saying after I named DS: "Poor kid". She didn't do email, though.

They are absolutely not a friend and are far too invested, to actually take the time to email that they think the name is "terrible" they're batcrap crazy. Take a MASSIVE step back from them.

I love/like/ am indifferent to the baby names chosen by family and friends but anything beyond a message of "congratulations" is fucking rude.

To be clear - despite what I wrote above, I don't think it was in any way appropriate for your 'friend' to email you with her opinion!

(I only expressed mine because this is an anonymous forum, so I can be honest without needing to protecting our friendship!)
