Opinions/ middle names for Rogue

I have been looking for names for a little while. I want something unusual thats not going to crop up everywhere and Rogue is the only name ive really fallen in love with! I would use it for either a boy or a girl. Middle name for a boy would be John after a family member, but im worried Rogue John sounds a bit like a dodgy curry! Middle names for a girl would either be Evangeline, joan or Elizabeth. Does anyone have any opinions/suggestions/alternatives? (No Rogans or logans please!)

Rogue-AnnJosh

Sorry Rogue John just sounds like Rogue One.

That poor kid is either going to be marked as an ultimate Star Wars fan or as naughty.

OP, it's maybe not a commonly used word in your area. It's not just a meaning like David meaning "strong one" or whatever. It's a word used to describe a dishonest person/ hooligan etc. It's used quite a lot for example there's a BBC tv programme called Rogue Traders where they investigate criminal tradesmen basically. That's why people are suggesting other joke names.
It would be like calling your child scoundrel or something.

Have you heard of nominative determinism OP? The theory that a person's name may play a significant role in determining their job or even their character....

MonumentalAlabaster · 28/01/2018 20:27

Rogue-Ann Josh

Rogue Runner

abcnamechange · 28/01/2018 20:30

If you really love it make it a middle name but I think you'd actually regret it as a first.

PenguinsandPandas · 28/01/2018 20:30

Reuben?

Voice0fReason · 28/01/2018 20:31

It's an awful name, and it's your child, not you, who will have to live with it.

ShortandAnnoying · 28/01/2018 20:32

What about Satan-Rogue like in the thread about hyphenated names.

abcnamechange · 28/01/2018 20:32

The thing is your child might not be wacky and unusual- they might just be normal- most people are!

ladybirdsaredotty · 28/01/2018 20:32

Whether or not you understand the references, OP, although I'm not sure there's actually that much to understand, can you see that perhaps if this many people think it's a bad idea then they might have a point?

(Someone suggested my son's name as an alternative. Really hope it's not seen as a similar name to Rogue!!)

Unnoticed · 28/01/2018 20:33

Rouge-Trader?

DarthArts · 28/01/2018 20:33

Make it a middle name.

What about Lovable Rogue?

Or maybe Going Rogue?

Robyn578 · 28/01/2018 20:33

Like i said previously. There are plenty of awful names. Doesnt stop people from using them! Looks like its back to the drawing board.

Rowan is nice and works for both boy and girl.

DarthArts · 28/01/2018 20:34

Why would you want to use an awful name though?

MrsGrindah · 28/01/2018 20:34

Yes there are plenty of awful names... so no need to add to the list!

ladybirdsaredotty · 28/01/2018 20:35

Good call, OP.

user187656748 · 28/01/2018 20:36

Definitely back to the drawing board OP. Its absolutely dreadful.

Robyn578 · 28/01/2018 20:36

By the assumption that "most people are normal" does that mean we should all be called janet and john? Everybody is different.

this is your first child isn't it op? They arn't little puppies you know, they have to grow up and get jobs and lives of their own ect.

Rouge is horrendous, and you sound like you havn't thought this parenting malarky through really.

I say this as a mother of 3 with unusual names, but they are at least, actual names.
