Really leaning towards a kind of unisex name now and I'm very drawn to Lennox for my baby girl. She's due 7th March but my last came early so honest opinions most welcome as struggling so much to decide (my turn this time as partner decided for last daughter).

Thanks all Smile

The Lennox I know has siblings Hollis (a girl) and Marshall (a boy).

Pip089 · 27/12/2017 23:53

I love Lennox for a girl's name!! It's unusual but not made up...
We're seriously considering Hayden for our girl, and also love Elliott / Elliotte... Keep us posted on your final choice!

I had a female Lennox in my reception class 20 years ago. We thought it odd then and she changed it to a nickname when she was in Yr6.
Ridiculous name for a girl.

Seekingmiracles · 30/12/2017 20:54

An ex colleague of mine has a DD called Lennox, but is called Lexi day to day. To me Lenox is a very masculine name. Probably because I associate it with Lennox Lewis.

I quite like unisex names, these were on my list for DD
Marlowe
Cooper
Leni

Will do @Pip089 Smile

Hayden is definitely one of my favourites too and I do like Bailey as it was a popular choice with my best friend

Dislike unisex names and I have onw myself. Lennox is ok as a name but to me it is a boys name. I know 2 boys with this name. Personally i would use a name you can use a unisex way for if you really wabt this. That way your dd can choose later if she hates it. Sadly i dony have that possibility

Marcipex · 31/12/2017 11:33

I like Lennox. I thought of Mary Lennox in the Secret Garden.

Potteryprincess30 · 31/12/2017 23:39

You have good taste @Marcipex, I also thought of The Secret Garden when I first heard it Smile

Reggie fucking Rose? Please be joking.

I have a lovely daughter called Lennox. Like the boxer, and annie; my Lennox is strong willed and soulful, so it works for us. Whilst many on this thread feel comfortable saying how dreadful it is, we’ve had many heartfelt compliments of the original yet traditional name. Lennox means abounding in elm trees in gaelic. Elms are graceful, imposing and a traditional symbol of goddesses and strength. Here’s to many more lennox’s in the world - boy/girl/fluid - who cares! : )

moredoll · 09/08/2018 23:04

Don't like it, sorry.
Prefer Kenzie or Hayden.

DC2018 · 09/08/2018 23:40

I think of Lennox as a boys name tbh.
Good unisex names:
Morgan
Marley
Avery
Aspen
Taylor
Harley
Quinn

spottybetty · 09/08/2018 23:42

Why give your child an ambiguous name, though?

Lennox is awful for a girl.

StrawberriesAndCream123 · 10/08/2018 00:50

Zombie thread, so OP did you go for Lennox?

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 10/08/2018 01:05

Robyn is a good un

Kokeshi123 · 10/08/2018 01:24

There was a young woman called Lennox (actually Lenox) in an Agatha Christie novel.

I still think it sounds like a boy's name, tho.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 10/08/2018 01:35

Yes I remember that Koke

Peaudoce · 10/08/2018 01:44

Lennox is not an attractive name for a girl.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 10/08/2018 01:58

It’s A Shakespeare name too. Definitely a blokes name

Sevendown · 11/08/2018 09:05

There’s a female author called Lennox

llangennith · 11/08/2018 09:11

This thread started last year!

PolkerrisBeach · 11/08/2018 13:50

Lennox is a surname. If anything, use it for a boy but it's still bloody awful.

As is Lux - what are you people thinking?? Lux is a soap brand.

cholka · 11/08/2018 14:11

Too much like Lummox.
