Erm, not keen on any of them but at a push, Monty. Also, I believe Jean is spelled 'Gene' if it's for a boy? Not definitely sure though. Best to check maybe? Good luck! :-)

I can live with people not liking the name

What about the child? They're the one who'll have to live with it. What if they're quiet and don't want to stand out from the crowd? I'd give them more conventional names with 'edgy' nicknames so they have the choice when older.

I almost laughed out loud reading those names. Helped by the fact I'm Scottish and the first one means poo. Sorry OP but if you're being serious they're all hideous, I mean come on, really? Ok I'll give you Percy. He's a train but it's a normal name.

Ummmm....

I like Viggo instead of Vito ... close as I can get to liking any of them I'm afraid.

Abel is a great name! I also like Percy and Roald.

As pps have said, everyone has different taste in names. I don't think it's "try hard" to give your child an unusual name because you happen to like it. My youngest has a very unusual name which we just happened to love. She loves it too.

Abel
Bram (short for Abraham though)

The rest are so pretentious sounding. Sorry. Lots of these would be names I think about using in my head, but would never say outloud, like Ptolemy.

Actually Wolfgang is my dream pretend name for a son.

I do also like Art (but think he'd need to be an Arthur) and I like Monty but not Montgomery.

I like Anselm, Art (as a nickname for Arthur) and Bram (either as a full name or as a nickname for Abraham. Sorry, not keen on the rest!

I like Abel and Bram

If they were the only names left in the entire world then perhaps Percy, at a real push. Will apart be short for Arthur? Because Arthur's nice only I wouldn't bother shortening it. P.s. What the hell is a Bram!?

Assuming you don't have hairy hands although even the hairy handed ones must have kids so:
Abel
Wolfgang
Bram

*Art. Even predictive text doesn't like the name

Please not Percy.
And you can't call a British boy living in the Uk Jean.....

Levi would be better.

I love the name Wolfgang. I'd never in a billion years be brave enough to use it, though.
The others are the epitome of horrendous, sorry

I love Bram, then Abel, really cool name, then Wolfgang.

Abel is nice, I don't mind Wolfgang but not a fan of any of the others and apparently my kids have try hard names too Grin

Thank you everyone! DH likes Bram, Joby, Anselm and Percy. I think we have our shortlist! I'd love to use them all in some way if possible.

Please ffs not Joby. Monty is best from your list.

Report
caffelatte100 · 05/10/2017 12:20

What a weird list of names you have!
Monty is lovely (not the full name, it's very pretentious and doesn't sound nice), possibly Percy (though that reminds me of Percy the zoo keeper books.)

Report
Jooni · 05/10/2017 12:35

Art is great. Bram is nice too. Monty would be my third choice at a push, but not Montgomery.
