Art
Monty
Abel

I really don't like any of the others, at all.

But don't ask me. My son has the most popular name in the UK for about the last 20 years Grin

Needalifeoverhaul · 04/10/2017 18:15

Bram, Art and Percy Smile Monty is very popular now although a lovely name. Love the list

Ptol · 04/10/2017 18:15

Thank you needalifeoverhaul we must have similar taste Smile

I'm a big fan of Anselm - very distinguished! Bram's nice too.

Needalifeoverhaul · 04/10/2017 18:19

Yes ☺ I love names that are not standard run of the mill (as long as they're not ridiculous).

mumofone234 · 04/10/2017 18:21

Abel and Monty are my favourites; third would probably be Bram.

Discotits · 04/10/2017 19:44

Bram and Anselm.

Witsender · 04/10/2017 19:49

Not great, but Monty, Art then Percy.

But then we are happily 'achingly basic'.

PorklessPie · 04/10/2017 19:50

Garfield
Bram
Abel

To me Jean for a boy is pronounced the french way and on hearing the name is assume "Gene."
I doubt I am the only one, cue years of confusion and correcting spelling.

Out of your choices I'd go for Roald. Quite like Bram as in Bram Stoker.

Tuesday40 · 04/10/2017 19:58

Another vote for Art, and love Gene for a boy. Much prefer Gene to Jean.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 04/10/2017 19:58

Are all of them actually names? Some seem like they have been completely made up, and yes, ones that are being liked here.

They are all terrible and 'look at me, I went for something unique'.

What's wrong with a name like Sam these days!

Percy is the only one I come close to liking, sorry OP!

Mysharonawoana · 04/10/2017 20:06

I feel a bit as if you have read all the recent threads about Baby names and put one up with a list of all the names that cause some debate. Someone else mentioned Ptolemy recently. Arlo isn’t on your list and is quite unusual but also really nice. I like Monty. I agree if you go with Jean the spelling should be Gene so it’s clear how to say it (or you’ll get a lot of people asking if it’s French). I have a tricky name and was always the kid being asked the clarifying question when the class register was called. It put a spotlight on me from a young age and I felt I had to explain myself - so I’d at least go with ‘easy to say, easy to spell’. Good luck!

ohhelpohnoitsa · 04/10/2017 20:08

My top 3 would be
Abe (Abel)
Job with an e if you like, but not Joby
Percy

Pigeonpost · 04/10/2017 20:08

I looooooove Percy. And I have a Monty. Hard to pick a third but would go Art at a push.

PhuntSox · 04/10/2017 20:41

Also for you to consider:
Beowulf
Wulfric
Utred
Alaric
Aelfric

Josiah · 04/10/2017 20:45

Monty.
Art.
Jean but spell it Gene.

badg3r · 04/10/2017 20:48

Jean (if there is a French link)
Monty
Vito

Monty is my favourite of the three.

Joby is terrible.

tistheseason2bjolly · 04/10/2017 20:49

Jean-Luc is good :)

MrsJamin · 04/10/2017 20:50

I agree. They're all awful!

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 04/10/2017 20:52

They sound really try hard and look how hipster we are. Sorry!

MaidenMotherCrone · 04/10/2017 20:55

What about Brian?

PeasAndHarmony · 04/10/2017 20:55

I love unusual names but don't actually like any of the ones on your list Blush sorry!

If I had to chose one it would be Vito or Bram.
