Clementine. NN Clemmie. I love it. This will be last baby (4th) so Iast chance for this.

Trouble is, it has the same number of syllables as our last name. And the last syllables rhyme.

So think 'Clementine Hannodyne' (not our real surname but a close approximation).

So can I? Pretty please?

Honest opinions very much wanted. Be as brutal as you want.

Love it. My name that got away. DH refused. However, I do love DDs name now too - and the funny thing is DD HATES oranges now. Can't be near the smell of anything orange.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2017 11:19

Grace
Hope

OVienna · 06/07/2017 11:20

Cressida
Cecily

I love those too.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2017 11:21

Cecilia

petitdonkey · 06/07/2017 11:23

I love the name but agree that you should listen to posters with experience of rhyming names.

Cecelia
Camilla
Lydia??

HelloFreedom · 06/07/2017 11:23

Cecilia is on the maybe list. Again. DH not that keen.

This time it's going to be tricky choosing. We've used all our favourites. Middles names of others are Martha, Jane, Helene and Emma,

Augusta
Claudia
Marguerite
Priscilla
Martha
Seraphina
Veronica
Ada
Julia

They’re all names of Catholic saints.

Somerville · 06/07/2017 11:26

I'm confused - you have an Evangeline - is that not the same problem with Harrodine as Clementine?
(And now I feel like I'm writing a limerick or something.)

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 06/07/2017 11:27

Think absolutely fine-
I actually like the way the names go together.
My DD is Clementine-she is 16 and I still love it every time I say it.
She goes by Clemmie as well-and hates Clemen-teen.
There won't be that many times that they are said about loud together if she goes by clemmie so I wouldn't miss using the name you love-
It seems like you really want it-do it and no regrets!!!

HelloFreedom · 06/07/2017 11:27

I've been trawling lists and lists. Clementine felt like it.

I may try to wrap my head around Clemen'teen'...she would still be Clemmie.

Voting for Clemence

HelloFreedom · 06/07/2017 11:28

Evangeline has an 'een' sound on the end. Not 'ine'.

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 06/07/2017 11:28

do it and no regrets

It's not the OP who has to live with any regrets.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 06/07/2017 11:29

said out loud. not about loud!

HelloFreedom · 06/07/2017 11:29

Although thinking about it, Evageline and Clementeen rhyme!

Oh bollocks.

OP posts:
Somerville · 06/07/2017 11:30

The Evangeline I know is 'ine' ending. But she's in Ireland, maybe that's why.

HelloFreedom · 06/07/2017 11:31

You can say either.
