Everyone seems to worry about popularity, so what name have you known the most of in the same class?

Growing up I had six (!) Daniels in my class, so over a third of the boys. There were two in the adjacent class too.

I've also known two separate classes with three Isabelles each who were all Izzy.
Three Jacks.
Three Freyas too which is odd as it's not that popular.

And DD has 3 Olivers in her class and 2 Williams.

bbpp · 26/06/2017 20:39

It was all Emily, Georgie/Georgia, Chloe, James and Daniel when I was at school.

fairiedemon · 26/06/2017 20:39

Lots of Helen's at school. Oh, 5 Alan's and 4 John's in my team of 30 at work.

AprilLudgateDwyer · 26/06/2017 20:40

A lot of Sophias and Jessicas at DS school.

BattyBagshot · 26/06/2017 20:41

In my form at secondary school there were only 7 of us (out of 28) who had our own names. Everyone else was called: Laura, Katherine, James, Robert or David...

BattyBagshot · 26/06/2017 20:42

Oh and only 1 of the girls had a middle name that wasn't Louise, Jane or Elizabeth! 😂

Ellieboolou27 · 26/06/2017 20:46

Lily mai and lots of xxx mai's in my dd's reception class, actually 6 of them. Boys are Olivier, Alfie, Jacob

In my time early 90's it was Emma and Hannah and jack or tom for the boys

ColourfulOrangex · 26/06/2017 20:48

Oh and Ellie

MiriAmmerman · 26/06/2017 20:50

When I was at secondary school (late 90s, so we were all 80s babies) there were 3 Adams and 2 Andrews in my form group. In my year group (c. 200 kids) the most common girls' names were Rachel, Helen, Gemma, and Claire (I'd say approx. 10 of each). Everyone's middle name was Louise.
There were also a fair few Lucys, Amys, Jades, and Hayleys. Apart from Adam and Andrew, the most common boys' names were Thomas, Steven, Matthew, and James.

Not a single Emily, Olivia, Evie, Jack, Archie, or Oscar. They would have seemed terribly exotic. There was a boy called George a couple of years below me and we all thought it was hilarious Grin How times change.

Froggybedlegs · 26/06/2017 20:53

In my classes at school there were several Sarah's and Catherine's.

At ds school now it's (weirdly)
Several Lennons and Leightons and Sonnys
Girl's names seem to be Maddy (five in one class!!) and Demi/ Demi-Leigh.... Loads of those through the school.

OSETmum · 26/06/2017 20:53

There are 3 Olivers in DS' class (including him). Other multiples around the school include: Jacob, Josh, Isabelle, George and Harry.

SumAndSubstance · 26/06/2017 20:56

I once taught a class of 30 boys, 8 of whom were called Alex!

5BlueHydrangea · 26/06/2017 20:57

In the 80's when I started secondary school we had 3 Susan's, a Susannah, 3 Sarah's, 2 Jackies and 2 Elizabeth's in our class. None of which are all that popular these days.

In the mid 90's I knew of 5 Rebecca's out of 15 girls in a rainbow group.

Now at my DD's school Aoife, Martha, Jonathan, Aaron and Aiden seem to be popular names.

cupcake007 · 26/06/2017 20:57

In my class I have 2 Evie's and 2 Oliver's.

Mymumsanighthorse · 26/06/2017 21:01

At secondary school in late 90's my class of 25 had 3 Amy's, 3 Laura's and 2 Louise's.

Scribblegirl · 26/06/2017 21:01

Born in 1989, there were four Lauras in my class.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 26/06/2017 21:01

4 x Millies in one class of 30 at my DC school!

NetballHoop · 26/06/2017 21:03

At my previous house my neighbour to either side and opposite were Jane, Jean and June.

As someone who struggled with names it took me ages to get them right.

harderandharder2breathe · 26/06/2017 21:05

Two out of 6 boys in my primary school class were Ben

In high school, lots of Sarahs and Louises, boys probably Matthew and David

At one point out of 24 Brownies I had an Isabelle and 2 Isabellas (both Izzy), don't think I've ever not had an Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella in the 5 years I've been doing it.

AlmostNQT · 26/06/2017 21:05

On one of my student teaching placements, over the morning and afternoon sessions we had 11 Olivers!!!!!

We let them pick their nicknames to make it easier. We had O, Ollie, Ol, Oliver. Was still hard to handle!

OllyBJolly · 26/06/2017 21:07

7 girls in one of my primary school classes : 3 x Carol, 2 x Elizabeth, 2 x Ann. Did 60s parents have no imagination?!

DD1 primary 1 class there were 5 x Emma out of 12 girls.

YokoReturns · 26/06/2017 21:10

4 Simons in my class at primary school (born 80/81)!!! Then I went to a posh(er) secondary school and there were 2 Giles! GILES! I didn't even know it was a name (assumed Giles Brandreth was a stage name Grin)

pmppns · 26/06/2017 21:12

My dd is a Georgia and in her nursery group there is also a George, Georgie abs Georgina. 2 Noah's, 2 Alex's, 3 Riley's and a new popular one is Grayson.
