How on earth do I name this baby girl!?

I am so stressed right now Sad she's 5 weeks and 2 days. We can't agree on anything. He says he doesn't like any name apart from Lily 🙄 Lily is okay but definitely not a name that I see her being. I really love April but he says that as she was born so close to April it would just be stupid and that her nickname would become 'Ape/Apes' Confused

She doesn't even look like either name tbh so I don't really know what to do. He likes Kiera and I think it's okay if spelt Ciara but still not 100% and he doesn't like it spelt like that as he thinks people will spell and pronounce it wrong.

So lost right now.

We both quite like Mollie (he hates the y spelling 🙄) but will she be Mols (sounds like moles???)

Help!!

Holy crap that's one gorgeous baby!!

Love the suggestion of Lila, and the meaning us very appropriate
Or how about Lola? Or Luna?

Gah she's just gorgeous!!

harderandharder2breathe · 21/06/2017 14:58

Congrats OP she's gorgeous!

I think she's a Francesca

Also like
Mollie
Poppy
Lola

She's a stunning baby.
I love Cora or Connie but she definitely doesn't look like a Lily to me; sorry.

However, I think you're missing a trick as she's very beautiful thus could carry off a more elaborate, dramatic, longer name. They're not usually to my taste but she looks like a Francesca, Gabriella, Eleanor or Josephine to me. Yes, definitely a Josephine. 😄

binkybonk · 21/06/2017 15:58

They are all lovely names :)
However, my mum is April and lots of people call her Apes, sorry 😜

BendydickCuminsnatch · 21/06/2017 16:04

Oh good grief she is especially gorgeous!

rizlett · 21/06/2017 16:07

I wanted to call my daughter Lily (she's having her own now) but I'm glad my family didn't like it and therefore I didn't use it.

I called her Biba. (nothing like Lily)

paddypants13 · 21/06/2017 16:49

What about Maria, Anna, Luna, Lucia or Carmen? Spanish names that are easy for English people to pronounce and a nod to your mil?

Having said that, I think Molly suits her best from the names you have listed.

LexieLulu · 21/06/2017 16:51

I pronounce Ciara and Keira differently.

See-era
Key-era

user98765432101 · 21/06/2017 16:52

If you both like Mollie then call her mollie. She is beautiful and congratulations

kickbackrelaxmac · 21/06/2017 17:08

@LexieLulu why? Ciara is Irish and pronounced the way you pronounce Kiera.

kickbackrelaxmac · 21/06/2017 17:09

Well it's actually pronounced keera (both of them)

NoCapes · 21/06/2017 17:13

kockback there's a very famous singer called Ciara who pronounces it See-air-ah

kickbackrelaxmac · 21/06/2017 17:14

But that's clearly an incorrect pronunciation

NoCapes · 21/06/2017 17:16

Maybe not so clear to someone who has only ever seen the name in relation to the singer Hmm no need to be snippy

kickbackrelaxmac · 21/06/2017 17:17
Hmm
Soslowmo · 21/06/2017 17:18

Molly / Mollie is gorgeous.

Or
Eliza
Lilia
Sofia

LexieLulu · 21/06/2017 18:36

We knowledge of the name is from the singer, and in a song she her name is said with that pronunciation

LexieLulu · 21/06/2017 18:38

m.youtube.com/watch?v=w55Nib4uf1U not sure if links work x

LynetteScavo · 21/06/2017 19:09

She looks more like a Mollie May to me.

MiddleClassProblem · 21/06/2017 20:14

Ciara is the Irish Keira but in other countries can be keearrah or sierra. We have it as the Irish for Ciara. There are many names of the same spelling with different pronounciations.

bringmesunshinetoo · 21/06/2017 20:41

MIL is Spanish so she has 100% taken her genes!

Ooh, how about Iyana. It's Spanish..I think it means eternal blossom. Have also seen it spelt Ayana/Aiyana.

She is absolutely beautiful!

Msqueen33 · 21/06/2017 20:47

I like Lily, Mollie, Lucia is beautiful. What about Lauren?

MikeUniformMike · 21/06/2017 20:48

She's gorgeous but she doesn't look like a Mollie or Lily to me. Lily is a lovely name but it gets shortened to Lil or Lils (yuk).
Lola is the best suggestion I've seen on here.
Please don't call her April if she was born in May.

Hulababy · 21/06/2017 20:58

DD is called Mollie - that spelling, it was a spelling used over 100 years ago so not a 'modern' version or anything. She has been called Mol/Mols on occasion as a brief pet name by the odd teacher, but not very often and it is in no way her day to day name. It didn't occur until she was into junior school either. Her friends call her Mollie more than anything else. She sometimes gets Mollie Mouse (on account of her Disney love!), Mollie Moo or Miss Mollie. Her actual middle name is Olivia, though it should have been India - Im still not sure how or why it got changed between going into labour and registering her and she always says she wishes it was India. My Mollie is now 15.

Although a so called popular name (Moly/Mollie) we don't actually know anyone close to us with the same name, DD has only ever been to school with one - n secondary.

Hulababy · 21/06/2017 20:59

She's beautiful and I could definitely see her as a Mollie :)
