Only stipulation is that they can't be 'made up' names and no creative spellings.

What's the most outlandish/borderline ridiculous name you've heard bestowed on a baby girl?

I knew a Carmelina once. It really suited her but her actual name was Natasha!

CakeRattleandRoll · 14/08/2016 02:02

I've taught a Fairy and a Porsche.

FastWindow · 14/08/2016 02:28

Cake no! that's terrible. '' Porsche, stop annoying Fairy''. No wonder teachers are leaving. Grin

Calico is rather nice, actually

I knew someone at school called Wing Wong. She had chosen the name Wing herself as her English name after she had read it in a book (she was from Hong Kong) why no one gave her any advice about not choosing that name i dont know.

Tyger-Trinity. And I used to volunteer with three friends called Armani, L'Oreal & Chanel.

I love a lot of these Blush - wouldn't be brave enough to use them though.

Only 'outlandish' names I have actually met are:

Blue, Chymme, Katinka, Ocean, Antigone, Tree (?!), Karenza, Atlanta, Dakota, Summertime, Chastity, Pandora and Eriskay.

Duchess
Velvet
Bonnie-Blue
Sian (pronounced Syan

pieceofpurplesky · 14/08/2016 02:48

Kyona
Petal
Pepper (which I love)

Honestly Missy Pitts is genuine (Pitts is her surname) I did a double take and didn't quite believe my son at first, until I saw her name on her tray in the classroom. Very unfortunate case of not thinking about a first name and surname together.

rainbowstardrops · 14/08/2016 09:29

I know a Charisma. She's lovely.
I actually quite like some of these names Blush

Anasnake · 14/08/2016 09:32

Relics (I've no idea where that came from), Betty Butterfly and Blaze-Marine.

Anasnake · 14/08/2016 09:34

I forgot Taisie-Maisee too !

MrsGsnow18 · 14/08/2016 09:39

I do believe everyone is free to name their children whatever makes them happy but some of these are setting their children up for a lifetime of mockery Confused

hollyisalovelyname · 14/08/2016 09:39

Clytemnestra.
From Ancient Greek mythology.
I knew somebody who wanted to call her daughter that.
She didn't have a daughter.

Anasnake · 14/08/2016 09:40

There was a Pebbles and a Boo at my son's nursery too. A friend of mine taught sisters Astra and Nova - I was hoping they had a Corsa too !

BathshebaDarkstone · 14/08/2016 09:44

I met a Love in the USA. Confused

NauseousKitty · 14/08/2016 09:45

My daughter's name is on here! It's an old lady chic rather than an "Princess Frou-Frou" name, so I didn't think it was that outlandish. Now worrying Hmm

ItchyFoot · 14/08/2016 10:14

Indigo
Ayla
I kind of like Saxon but I'm a Doctor Who fan and it just reminds me of the master.

vixsatis · 14/08/2016 10:20

Rowena, Jacinta and Portia all seem pretty normal to me: unusual but not outlandish

The daftest I have come across for a girl is "beau".

Missgraeme · 14/08/2016 10:29

My son was in hospital years ago (now 21)with croup. All the rooms had a huge window in so the nurses could check in the babies without opening the door. I was walking back to our room and there was a little girl about a year old in one. All dressed in frills and bows. Told her mother (liedBlush) that she looked lovely blah blah what's her name??
Gloria - Victoria no less!!
Gave my best smile and said ah lovely (another lie!)

pieceofpurplesky · 14/08/2016 12:46

I also know a beautiful ten year old called Isis. She gets a really tough time from other kids

ItchyFoot · 14/08/2016 13:24

Yeah Isis is lovely it's so unfortunate.

DerelictMyBalls · 14/08/2016 15:28

Some of these are amazing. Fophie! Chasseur!

newlabelwriter · 14/08/2016 15:31

Eartha. I love it.

Mollbie · 14/08/2016 15:34

Love the name Isis, such a shame. Can't they alter it slightly, or give her a nickname?
