DS was born a bit early yesterday after a v.fast labour which has left me a bit shell shocked. We knew we were a bit stuck for names but assumed inspiration would strike when he was born.....sadly not!

I really love Kit, but a) Dh is not convinced, and b) it's recent celebrity use puts me off.....

Names we like but maybe not enough include Edward, Jack, Luke, Eric, and Tom.

Been doing some 2am googled (so my judgement might be a bit off) and have seen Wolf, Heath, Ash, Robin (but dislike Rob as a nn).

Help. As you can see the names are all a bit random. He'll be Baby for a while at this rate :-(

Samuel Nicholas - after looking at the picture!

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 03/02/2016 21:53

I love Heath!

Nodowntime · 03/02/2016 21:56

I like Heath, but only because I love Heath Ledger...

Sunbeam18 · 03/02/2016 22:03

Keir

cocodidit1 · 03/02/2016 23:15

Heath, its beautiful

MadisonAvenue · 03/02/2016 23:19

Kit and Heath would really suit him, he's so lovely - congratulations! Flowers

SilverBirdie · 03/02/2016 23:34

He's beautiful. Congratulations!
We have a ds with a name from your list - other names we liked are: Archie, Toby, Rowan and Jude.
I love Heath too

StarkyTheDirewolf · 04/02/2016 01:04

I think he looks like a Robin. Or a Christopher. Just not Christopher Robin. Christian? Nicholas would be lovely too. Congratulations though, he's beautiful. Flowers

Thetruthfairy · 04/02/2016 12:58

Love Heath and Kit xx

namelessboy · 04/02/2016 17:10

Jury is still out but we seem to be narrowing it down....

I still love Kit but Dh remains unconvinced Sad

Liking Heath but it doesn't seem to suit him. Ditto Luke (but suits him more than Heath). I guess he could be an Ash...

Robin is lovely but definitely wouldn't want Rob so probably best avoided.

Pip is cute but not so keen on Phillip.

Edward is the only name we both think is OK, but I wish I felt sure.

We keep being asked his name, I feel awful saying no not yet...

Thanks for the replies this thread is definitely helping

Aww, he's lovely and I immediately thought 'Edward' when I saw him. Like Luke, too. Take your time; people won't mind! And if they do, ignore them. Enjoy your beautiful boy.

LavenderRain · 04/02/2016 19:19

He's lovely! I do like the name Edward,

But my current favourite boys name is Ernest I think that would suit him Grin

MyBigFatGreekYoghurt · 04/02/2016 19:22

He looks like Edward...

Nickname:

Teddy
Ted
Woody
Ed
Eddie
Bear
Tedward (!)

katienana · 04/02/2016 19:26

I vote for Edward. My dh is an Ed and there are very few. So many nicknames to choose from too.
Congratulations on your very cute ds!

toffeeboffin · 04/02/2016 19:34

He could be a Nicholas as a PP said.

What about Lucas?

Dogadviceneeded · 04/02/2016 20:43

I agree Heath doesn't suit him

Love Kit, other than that
Rowan
Asher
Keir

cecilelliott · 04/02/2016 21:02

Kit is lovely, and, as someone else says, call him Christopher, and then if Kit suddenly becomes v popular (doubt it will), you can use other shortenings

Other lovely names mentioned above (IMO!) are Patrick, Keir and Peter

Names that seem to be becoming crazily popular at the moment seem to be Toby(5 in toddler group y'day!), Theo, Teddy and Reuben so maybe avoid these if you're wanting something a bit fresher!

Good luck and congratulations on your lovely son!

Dogadviceneeded · 04/02/2016 21:35

Yy Christopher nn Kit

I also know a Krister which I think is a great name and could easily be shortened to Kit.

Mouseinahole · 04/02/2016 22:14

Kester nn Kit or Kes?

Mouseinahole · 04/02/2016 22:15

However Edward is my absolute favourite and Ed is cool too.

Soooosie · 04/02/2016 22:25

Kit is stunning. What about Christopher with nn kit

Seth

Hew

Rex

Gus

Rafe

Wilf

namelessboy · 05/02/2016 11:19

Right...Dh has tried his best to like Kit but sadly it looks like it's destined to be the name that got away Sad

So he's either Edward, which we both like and suits him....

Or I woke up this morning and thought "Wilf"!! Which hadn't registered really when I read the replies last night but must've subconsciously been noted Smile

Here he is this morning...

MadameDePompom · 05/02/2016 11:23

Oh he's so lovely! Congratulations.

Definitely more of an Edward than a Wilf though. Edward is 70 trillion times nicer than Wilf.

kimlo · 05/02/2016 11:46

Every other boy now is edward/eddy/teddy around here, it seems to have taken over from Noah.

Wilf is much nicer.
