What's your favourite (slightly) unusual boys name?

Looking at boys names for DS2 and struggling a bit. DS1 has a traditional top 10 name but we can't find another similar we like for DS2 so I'm thinking we might need to go a bit more unusual. So I'm looking for some inspiration!

Theodore/Teddy.

Jasper I like but I'm pretty sure DH vetoed last time! I'll try again. Silas could be a contender.

Ted/Teddy as a shortening I do really like but it seems really popular at the moment which puts me off a little and again we have the problem that it doesn't fit with DS1. We can't really use anything with 'Ben' at the start 'Ted' or 'Elliot' (which I like) as they would all sound rediculous paired with him!

My favourite boys names (at the moment) are
Quentin
Reuben
Lawrence (but not Laurence which is female in France, the male version being Laurent)

I agree with the previous poster - more of these names should actually be used! There are enough Harrys, Charlies and Noahs out there imo.

I'm ridiculously pleased that my DS's name has been mentioned a couple of times. I love it but didn't realise how unusual it was until after he was born and we started telling people. It's nice that at least two other people on here have heard of it and like it!

Ooh I love the name Stellan SquadGoals
Wish I was brave enough to use it...

Not sure why it would be any kind of an issue that Laurence is the girls variant in France though? It's a great boys name here in the UK!

My DS's name is on here Grin

I also like Tiberius, Reuben, Magnus and Valentino

RoseDeWittBukater · 26/01/2016 19:58

I have one of these too Grin and I also didn't realise how unusual it was when we chose it, it's biblical so I assumed classic.

If I was to have any more DS I love -
Stanley
Elias
Reuben
Eric
Idris
