A brother for Artemisia

Originally it was going to be Lucian...yep we are those parents. But we got cold feet and decided it was too wanky even for us. (I love Lucian to any Lucian owners, but we thought in combination with Artemisia, it was a bit...hmm)

So then, after much discussion, the only name we could agree on, was Milo. But we have now come across, not one, not two, but THREE dogs called Milo. Apparently it is in the top ten dog names in the UK. This has... put us off. And we don't like Miles.

Names I like, which DH has roundly rejected:

Tobias
Marcus
Sebastian
Casper
Silas
Felix

Anyone got any good suggestions, before we name our son this generation's equivalent of Rex?

I am 39+6 and getting a bit worried that we seem to have NO candidates. DH has been totally unable to come up with any suggestions.

A bit more sensibly, what about just Xander so their names aren't too similar?

I actually like Alexander but i prefer Benedict and think it goes better. I'd ignore the Cumberbatch thing - I didn't think of it at all and in a few years no one else will either I bet. It's not like you are using a name that is "unique" and famous such as Madonna or Lulu or Inglebert that you'd only associate with one person.

Tirfarthoinn · 25/09/2015 22:39

Wolfgang
Ralph (Pronounced Rafe)
Robin
Sebastian

Tirfarthoinn · 25/09/2015 22:42

What about Jameson

WiIdfire · 25/09/2015 22:49

I love all these names! Definitely bookmarking for the future. However, husband not so much. We went for Alexander (what do you mean, common?!?) and Im working on Xander or Sascha for a nickname, but everyone calls him Alex anyway. :-)

ediepop · 25/09/2015 22:51

Love Ralph. Lifetime of it being mispronounced though.

Thelwall? This is actually a v.old family name. But no. Not even I am that cruel...

Am shamelessly posting with no helpful suggestion, as would like to hear what you've chosen once the baby is here Smile please update soon! Best wishes for a speedy labour x

Chillywhippet · 25/09/2015 22:55

Wulfstan
Bertrand

I know two teens called this. Not making them up. One gets called Wolf, the other Berry but Bert would be good too.

I like all your current short list

ediepop · 25/09/2015 22:56

Aww thanks, Daisy. I will come back and update when Mr takes his time decides to put in an appearance. He seems far too bloody comfortable at the moment. HmmAngry

Love Ralph aka rafe

Alexander Benedict is a great combo

Rollo
Jocelyn
Tristram

Charles
Guy
Giles
Piers
Agree Hector and Horatio
Hugo
Inigo to continue the artsy theme. Artemisia and inigo are quite good.
Francis
Leo
Julian
Gawain
