A brother for Artemisia

Originally it was going to be Lucian...yep we are those parents. But we got cold feet and decided it was too wanky even for us. (I love Lucian to any Lucian owners, but we thought in combination with Artemisia, it was a bit...hmm)

So then, after much discussion, the only name we could agree on, was Milo. But we have now come across, not one, not two, but THREE dogs called Milo. Apparently it is in the top ten dog names in the UK. This has... put us off. And we don't like Miles.

Names I like, which DH has roundly rejected:

Tobias
Marcus
Sebastian
Casper
Silas
Felix

Anyone got any good suggestions, before we name our son this generation's equivalent of Rex?

I am 39+6 and getting a bit worried that we seem to have NO candidates. DH has been totally unable to come up with any suggestions.

Haven't RTFT but... Atlas? Possibly too similar to DD but I love it!

myotherusernameisbetter · 30/09/2015 22:53

Was DD a huge baby with being overdue OP?

She was big, just under 9lb, but it was totally fine. No stitches. I'm not worried about a big baby. I've read my Ina May Gaskin and am confident I can do it. Just don't want an induction and defintely don't want a section if I can possibly avoid it!

Best of luck for tomorrow & the birth OP.

Hopefully having him in your arms will make choosing a name easier. If not, you know where we are Grin.

NegativeIron · 30/09/2015 23:25

Good luck, and do report back, Flowers.

ediepop · 30/09/2015 23:34

Aww thank you! I will definitely come back and update with his full name. DH is adamant that we shouldn't name DS till we've seen him. Although, last time I was off my tits on gas and air and would have probably gone for 'Tiny Monkey Face' or something similarly loony.

Flowers for everyone's fab suggestions. Even the taking the piss ones like 'Ptarmigan' which made me laugh. And 'Barry is a nice name for a baby'.

Fingers crossed for you OP. I refused an induction. I was referred to the consultant midwife for a good talking to but she agreed with me Grin DS came a whole week later when even the consultant midwife was getting twitchy. All was fine.

myotherusernameisbetter · 01/10/2015 07:29

I had two sections, it was fine. DS1 was 9lb 13 back to back and completely stuck. DS2 was same position and also expected to be big. In the end I had a section a week early and he was a tiddly 8lb 3. Hope all goes well and wee Barry Colin Ediepop arrives safe and well.

"Barry is a nice name for a baby"

Roar Grin

MerryMarigold · 01/10/2015 09:54

Grin at Barry Colin...or maybe Barry Ptarmigan. Good luck with the birth. C sections are heaven! I say this having done it both ways.

NationMcKinley · 01/10/2015 09:54

What about Eden?

ediepop · 01/10/2015 10:40

Ere we go ere we go ere we go. Think I might not need that monitoring appointment Grin

sleepyelectricsheep · 01/10/2015 11:30

Good luck ediepop, I hope all goes well Flowers

nicknamenoname · 01/10/2015 11:35

Barack Obama used to be called Barry, so how about Barack? Or possibly Barrington? Otherwise Trevelyan is a fabulous name. Shortened to Trevor.

HellKitty · 01/10/2015 11:56

Trevor! Grin

JasperDamerel · 01/10/2015 12:35

If you call him Bartolome (with an accent which I don't know how to do on this keyboard) after Murillo, then you keep with a Baroque artists theme AND we get to call him Barry.

daisydalrymple · 01/10/2015 14:33

Ooh how exciting, hope all is progressing quickly and pain free Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 01/10/2015 14:45

All the best, ediepop! Hope it's all going well.

Looking forward to finding out your decision.

PallasCat · 01/10/2015 17:40

Best of luck, Ediepop!
