I was just wondering what unusual spellings of totally common names that you have heard. I've come across a Khatlynne and an Ezykile.

In my job I see a lot of children's names these are some of the more....erm.......inventive spellings:
Daniyal
Kael (Kyle)
J'dn

I one counted nine different ways of spelling Jayden. I'm sure there are more.

Daniyal/danyal is the Arabia spelling of Daniel, not a yoonique spelling.

Worst I have seen is Karman (carmen) and Lilyarna (lilyana I guess)

GreatAuntDinah · 06/07/2015 08:58

Karman is a normal Hindu name.

In this case it was 'Carmen spelt Karman to make it a bit different'

Zackery
Ashlei

I don't get either of those, the original spellings are fine!

Though there are a lot of hmmm spellings on this thread, there is also some ignorance. Just because a name seems 'wrong' to you, doesn't necessarily mean it is. Just had a quick glance through and have seen Lili, Sera and Jac suggested as being 'yoo-neek.' These are all completely acceptable Welsh names! Lili is the Welsh name for the flower and there isn't a k in the Welsh alphabet so Jac is not wrong at all.

Amie
