Found out I'm expecting 1 and a half weeks ago, we are all so excited! I already have 2 DDs, Lyra and Renn who absolutely insist the baby is called Elsa (wonder where THAT came from) On the realistic side of things, DH and I still had a shortlist from last DD Renn and and with a bit of editing we have another. Tell me what you think, how do they fit with Renn and Lyra?

Girls:
Gabriella- It seems a bit too girly but I do like it
Crescent- Hadn't heard of this one before, but I really like it!
Eleanor- Quite like it, still...
Winter- Pretty good!
Emily- Perhaps too common but with a lot of charm!
Erin- I really like this one- like really
... And Elsa? I won't admit it to DDs, but I do actually like this name although am hesitating to put it on the list cuz of Frozen... I like strong girl names, which have all different channels of interpretation in them.

Boys:
Bear- LOVE this one sooooo much
Torak- Equal with Bear
Hawk- Yesssss
Eric- This one is lovely!
Needs more adding to it tho... I like really natural inspired uncommon boys names (but not totally weird) with character!

XD going to stay up all night and wait, so excited!!!

Where- You are so kind! Elsa is our number one girls name, and you're right about Frozen.

Bell- Thank you! The little missy is in bed and her sister is soon to follow
Topaz- Very nice, wanted to be in longlist but sadly DH vetoed
Rowan- Already on our longlist
Pearl- A wee bit girly
Willow- Very beautiful, longlist!
Eira- ?
Juniper- On longlist
Indigo- Same as Topaz
Linnet- Unusual but with charm! Longlist
-Thanks again! So excited!

My friend nearly called her baby Eira but turned out to be a DS. It's pronounced A-ra with the A being a hard A and the ra being said like "r for rabbit" the way you would with a small child. Hope that makes sense! If I remember correctly it means snow in Welsh - so may placate your DDs with a bit of a frozen element! Smile

Thanks for more great ideas folks! Keep em coming...

Bell- Thanks for the suggestion, v. interesting! Unfortunately can't add as DH's mother is called Arabelle and he feels it is too similar. Men!

Dinosaur- Aww, thank you so much! Support for my crazy tastes!

Rachel- Not sure about Naomi and Sofia but Elsie is very much like Elsa- thank you very much anyway!

Pallas- Raven is a fantastic name but I think unless we have twin girlies she's going to be an Elsa. DH strongly wants Logan if ds (Wolverine, manly, etc.... Sigh) Anna is nice, but I don't like the English (A-na) much prefer frozen type (Aa-na) but since we have a weird un-intentional frozen theme going on and Elsa is number 1.

Busy- Very quaint and sweet, not for us but Renn's bf is Agnes and we know a little Enid!

Sorry I'm confused ? If you only found out pregnant 1.5weeks ago how can you getting a sexing scan in Saturday ?

Elin for a girl or Elias for a boy

2Boys2Girls- Heh, this is causing much confusion. I actually realised I was pregnant about 5 weeks ago, but waited to confirm it about 1 and a half weeks ago so as not to be caught out.

Tired- Thanks for lovely suggestion- we've decided on one girls name Elsa but if it's twins like it might be, I'll talk with DH about it later. Elias isn't my favourite of names but DH might like it.

Falcon, even if you were 9 weeks pregnant you couldn't have a gender scan.

But I just did a search in your posts and I think something is wrong. I have found posts where you say your name is Elsa, post where you say your DDs are Lyra and Bonnie, posts where your sister is Renn.

Why lie? If you want to discuss names that is great, just start a thread about names but don't make up facts and change them between threads.

Quinoa- ??? Confusion. My name is Kelly, daughters names are Lyra and Renn. DH sometimes goes on account for laughs, might have messed around- will talk to him about this- as you're right. Also, doctor wants me for gender scan, so I guess I'm just going to go along...

Are you saying that your doctor is asking you to go for a gender scan? That's a bit unusual. Do you think you might have got confused about what the purpose of the scan is?

Report
RedToothBrush · 12/06/2015 20:35

There is no such thing as a gender scan in the UK. My letter said specifically that the scan at 20 weeks was not to find the gender but to see if there were any problems but there may be the opportunity to see the gender but this was not the purpose of the scan.

Last September (1/9/2014) your name was Elsa not Kelly. Was that your husband messing about as well?

Report
Falconwolf101 · 12/06/2015 21:23

Purples me Red- Oh, I'm getting so confused about this. I mean, why does it even matter? My name is Kelly, the names of my daughters are clear- and I'm going to go to the doctor just like I did with Lyra and Renn. This isn't a thread about proving something which was most likely a mishap, just to get name suggestions for new dd or ds. If something seems funny, I apologise, but please don't make me feel a need to prove anything. Thank you very much.

Why is it when schools out ie school holidays/leavers day over etc it brings this sort of thing on forums ? Kids pretending .... It's so annoying,
My mother used to say you have to have a good memory to be a good liar ???

Report
PurpleDaisies · 12/06/2015 21:51

I wasn't asking you to prove anything falcon, there were just some inconsistencies I thought you might like to clear up. Call yourself by whatever name you want. I really don't care one way or the other.

But I couldn't think of any medical reason why someone would be sent by a doctor for a gender scan at 9weeks and given there are so many pregnant women on this site I thought that was worth clarifying.

Report
MappingTheMind · 12/06/2015 22:44

There isn't a doctor in the world who could tell the gender from a scan at nine weeks. Anyway you first mention of the scan stated it was because you couldn't wait to find out, not the doctor.

Plus who scans on a Saturday afternoon? Do you have private health insurance?

Your DH is an unusual man whose hobby it is to log in under his wife's alias to post on baby name boards to ask about the same names his wife likes but all the while to subtly switch round which of his relatives is called what.

2Boys- Excuse me, are you saying I am making this all up? I am certainly not a 'kid' I find it offensive that you would suggest such a thing. There are no school holidays at the moment and I ask that you please remove yourself or contribute to the actual title of the thread- thank you.

Purple and Mapping- Not a problem it's just I may have more than one- not entirely sure if it is a gender scan at all and I was just excited in general as I thought it might be a gender scan. Whether the doctor calls me or not isn't for you to decide or prove, Mapping I go when the letter says and that's this evening.

For everyone, it's getting really exasperating now, please just accept what is now stated and let us have no further discussions over fact or fiction. Thanks to everyone.

I LOVE Winter. So much so that it's now a strong contender for our baby we're currently TTC! Don't know if anyone has suggested this but maybe Ezra for a boy?
