Confessions - names you love but will never use

Just as title really. I have a theory that everyone has a baby name that they love but will never/ have never got to use. Mine is Silas, always adored it but DH (and almost everyone else in rl) hates it. My mum's is Toby, she's tried to get us to use it but we haven't obliged. Would anyone else care to share?

Loveday for a girl. Just gorgeous!

And Dewi for a boy. Too Welsh, apparently - and I wouldn't pronounce it right.

NadiaWadia - I knew a girl at school whose middle name was Jezebel, she was quite proud of it. Jade Jagger has Jezebel as a middle name too (so her initials are JJJ Blush)

I have friends who swore they'd call their daughter Lilith, if they had one, but they'd told so many people and repeated it so many times, that by the time they had children they'd kind of gone off it.

I love Vivianne, but feel its too much of a name for a little girl. It would take years for her to 'grow into it'. Evelyn was also on our list, but it has become ridiculously popular recently, I love 'proper' names but don't want our child to be one of 3 'Evies'.

Partner wants 'Edward' for a boy, I couldn't have it though. It's sooooo English, my Celtic roots can't handle it Grin.

Indigo (nn indie)
Juno (H says no)
Ramona (we both love, crap with surname)
Cassius (DH and DD both have names with hard C's, another would sound like we are trying to alliterate our names in that horribly twee way...)
Zélie (DH said it sounded like a medicinal cream - weep)

I wanted Spike for a boy but oh said it reminded him of 'dirty kids in the war'. Hmm

Glossyflower · 31/01/2015 08:05

Iris DH hates it.
Jesse for boy which my whole family opposed.
Kind of got my way, we got a girl and she's Jessica Grin

Iseult also nice.

Rufus200 · 31/01/2015 17:59
