Already have a poppy and a violet.

I don't like rose or iris and I'm not specially keen on daisy.

I must be having a brain freeze as am struggling to think of suitable floral names! Any thoughts?

There's Dahlia (tends to be pronounced Day-lia) and Lily, which is super popular so I'd probably avoid.

Bowlersarm · 10/01/2015 17:26

Blossom
Lily

heygoldfish · 10/01/2015 17:26

Lily is sweet but I'm not sure - I think its popularity is slightly off putting as well :)

A tree, but Willow?

heygoldfish · 10/01/2015 17:32

Is nigella a flower?

Willow is lovely :)

I have two flowers as well (names already mentioned). When considering DD2 I thought Anemone could be nice with nn Annie.

Would you consider trees - Willow, Rowan?

HappydaysArehere · 10/01/2015 17:32

Jasmine is another but can't say it is a real favourite. I have known two Jasmines - nice people but both very large girls which didn't seem to fit the name. However, shouldn't think that would put anyone off. It is just me.

BathtimeFunkster · 10/01/2015 17:33

Aster

heygoldfish · 10/01/2015 17:33

Jasmine is nice but I had a friend at school called jasmine who died sadly and I think it would feel a bit too close to home so to speak.

Really leaning towards willow.

X posted Willow there! Jonquil?

loislines · 10/01/2015 17:33

Holly? Not exactly a flower, I know.
Laurel?

Allalonenow · 10/01/2015 17:33

Fern

heygoldfish · 10/01/2015 17:34

Fern is lovely as well!

Quite like Holly but it doesn't go with our surname!

What about versions of flower names, like rosa or lilia?

Clueing4looks · 10/01/2015 17:37

Ivy is lovely too.

Allalonenow · 10/01/2015 17:38

Yes, Nigella is a flower, its common name is Love-in-a-Mist.
