Help!! Difficult choice of boys names: Sean, Daniel or Balonz?

Dear MNers. Hoping you might all be able to help us out as we’re having real difficulty agreeing a name for DS due soon. For DD, we went 'rare'. Weren’t sure we were quite ready to find some ultra-weird name, but equally there are millions of Kates, Elizabeths and so ons.

For DD though, we’re thinking a much more traditional name, perhaps inspired by close friends/family. What are MNers’ thoughts on either Sean, Daniel or Balonz? Many thanks in advance!

Love the review

I enjoyed this thread and would recommend it to my cousin Smile

Another vote for classics. This thread has literally made me cry with laughter. Grin

lugwump · 03/10/2014 18:12

I suspect this is some sort of in joke that has gone over my head, but to me Sean is Irish, which I presume you are not; and Balonz just sounds silly. If it is "traditional" which tradition?

So into the Lion's Den it is.

Castlemilk · 03/10/2014 18:36

Hey Peter, spiritual wellness coaching eh - I'm intrigued. You're not from Hull by any chance are you?

If so, do you find it more of a challenge to advise on names from a different region of the UK, such as Surrey?

DiStopia · 03/10/2014 18:53

thread of the year and it isn't even on DiS. great stuff by all (except (whoever was pretending to be) thewarn). I would ask you all to stop by at drownedinsound but you've probably all had enough of bedwetters

PattyPenguin · 03/10/2014 18:56

Just read the whole thread. There's coffee and cheesecake base all over the keyboard.

Now, could someone please tell a dumbass where the Classics are? Will I find any funny there? I've had a crap week and I need some funny.

Castlemilk · 03/10/2014 19:12

No no DiStopia, I love bedwetters - I was a Ride fan, once, way back when Balonz was in the top 100, probably. Happy days.

Classics are here.

And you might enjoy the hamster casserole thread which for some reason hasn't been moved to Classics yet.

Castlemilk · 03/10/2014 19:13

Actually, kill two birds with one stone and get to understand my reference to Hull in the post above by starting with this one:

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/10/2014 19:20

Ah, Balonz Brian from Hull. The only troll ever to get banned yet still get his thread into classics.

Castlemilk · 03/10/2014 19:27

God I loved that thread Tortoise - and have to repost:

Natural prey
Bedecked in hay.

Awesome squeak
And yet so weak.

I heard you munch
I yearned to crunch.

Carrot eater
Jaw cheater.

Ahhhhh

PacificDogwood · 03/10/2014 19:36

I am so going to demand a GP epitaph when my boys go Grin - genius!

Crazycat11 · 03/10/2014 19:58

Hi new on here but saw the thread on email and had to read whole thing ... Now googled and come accross this so funny! I think you all have some admirers! drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4454505

BotoxednSpanxed · 03/10/2014 20:01

Data entry.

O m g

TheBananaStand · 03/10/2014 21:11

Shit the bed, I got a fright when I saw the email there and there's a weird DiS/MN crossover happening!

I used to spend hours lurking/occasionally posting about music/telly etc. on DiS and now I mostly post/read on MN about excretions and baby clothes...I never expected the two to meld!

Pipbin · 03/10/2014 21:12

This has give me such a laugh.

Welcome new people to MN.

TheHouseatWhoCorner · 03/10/2014 21:51

I've been quoted on DiS. One of my proudest moments ever!

ThisFenceIsComfy · 03/10/2014 21:51

This thread made the round up. Come on, it needs to make Classics!

BotoxednSpanxed · 04/10/2014 17:53

so relieved this is a joke. the thoughts of a little Data entry going through life!!

Toucanet · 05/10/2014 01:18

Balonz is a name? Googling I see of Basque origin (not Surrey)?

If I heard it round here though would be thinking maybe they were Polish.

wantacatplease · 05/10/2014 07:04

No, it's definitely of Surryean region. What kind of internet researcher are you?

Or, you could, I dunno...say, RTFT!! Grin

PacificDogwood · 05/10/2014 10:29

I made up the Basque origin Grin

And this thread made in on Reddit GrinGrinGrin

spiderlight · 05/10/2014 18:44

"but he'd be WHOLE

hamsters don't DISSOLVE, you are getting them confused with Aspirin"

and I'm only on Page 2. I want two hamsters now - Balonz and Casserole.
