There was:

No unusual, interesting names! Even the giraffe was called Hannah!

Leo, Leon and Stella are all quite run of the mill here.

I was in Toys 'R' Us yesterday.
Names I heard were
Riley,
Tia,
Cai,
Jake,
Scarly (Mum and debated whether this was short for Scarlett)
Hugo.

Everywhere I go I see/hear -Mai names.

Kim82 · 21/08/2014 08:27

A few names I've heard recently are:

Trevor
Raffy
Mika
Leonie
Violet
Kyedon
Austin

There are also the million Ellie's, Jack's, Josh's and Olivia's etc so the above names have stuck in my mind.

FacebookWillEatItself · 21/08/2014 08:28

Keegan for a girl is bloody awful. It's pretty ropey for a boy as well, but for a girl it's off the scale awful.

Chilli
Scooter
and Box
(they are related to each other )

I kid you not.

DilysMoon · 21/08/2014 09:12

I heard Atticus, Wolfy and Lottie in the queue at legoland last week. DC3 due in November and am always on the lookout for boys name ideas Smile

mrssmooth · 21/08/2014 09:14

Heard someone calling for "Delores" the other day - thought it was a fab name.

ShoreCrab · 21/08/2014 09:36

That had to be in Totnes?

AliciaBotty · 21/08/2014 09:41

aubreye · 21/08/2014 11:12

Some kids at my DCs school;

Fenella
Sigrid- Siri for short
Messiah- umm
Elektra, Harley and Clementine- sisters
Yaseen- he's Muslim and this is a traditional name apparently
Colt and Zelda- brother and sister

These kids all go to a prestigious private school so no wonder the outcome. Really, Messiah?

My kids have a few unusual names though;

-Isaac
-Delilah
-Ephraim
-Rosalie

MrsWinnibago · 21/08/2014 11:18

MrsWinnibago · 21/08/2014 11:19

Phinius (sp??) and Levi. Can't remember what the third brother was called.

florascotia · 21/08/2014 11:30

Dolores is one of those Spanish names that started off as an attribute for the Virgin Mary.
It's the short version of 'Maria de los Dolores' - Mary of the Sorrows.
Sometimes girls are named simply 'Maria Dolores'.

The short form of Dolores is Lola or Lolita.

MaryWestmacott · 21/08/2014 11:40

yesterday at the park, (the ones I can remember anyway!)

Harry
Tom
Luke
Ellie (I think I heard her called Eleanor at one point, not sure though)
Emily
Livy (I assume she's an Olivia)

Sootgremlin · 21/08/2014 11:46

I heard a Bobby the other day, which I thought was sweet on a little boy and fairly unusual to my ear. I'm always surprised I don't hear of more Roberts as it is fairly classic.

Sootgremlin · 21/08/2014 11:50

Was it Banham zoo by any chance pebbles? That's where I heard Bobby!

mausmaus · 21/08/2014 11:54

phew I'm always relieved not to see my dc's names here means I didn't shout too much at the playground
