I didn't realised people listened to names in the park. I wonder if people ever post about the names I call my children in the park, as they're not their real names

I went to the park yesterday - heard a 'Dexter' and a 'Ned'. That is all.

Do names divide into "London" and "the rest of the UK"? There do seem to be differences. Also, is it just a time-lag thing where "London" names reach the rest of the country a couple of years later and end up at the top of the charts then?

My favourite overheard names were in central Cambridge and they were certainly siblings, if not twins:

'Aragorn, Eowyn,hurry up before McDonald's gets too busy!'

As I was headed there myself, I can confirm that they did indeed, hurry up!

Today I heard a Blaze/Blaise, and also siblings Honor and Autumn which I thought was lovely.

I know little boys called Lennie and Frank.

Was paying more attention to dd and friends today but there was a Summer Rose on the slide.

There was a summer rose at the party today! Nowhere near the slide as she's 3 weeks old

Those are the names I overhear the most either from my DDs talking about school or preschool, or from the park. (NE Arizona). Other common names are Madison, Ella, Olivia and Ana. I don't know many little boys.

Angus, Hamish, Finlay and Mirren all pretty standard here in the Scottish highlands. I Love Iris for a girl, DP not so keen, is it too old fashioned?

I met Darian and Brandon yesterday and sisters aged about 4 and 6 called Elsie and Irene.

Sydenham this one was about 5. Her mum was calling her the full name casually in conversation. I think I would have shortened.

I have met an Amarillo and her sister is called Autumn. I know someone who's boys are called Buster and Spike!

I know a Raphaela, Arietta and Fabienne - friends not related.
