The worst baby names you have ever heard?

Just starting a list of what not to call my baby. I don't usually make a habit of judging babies by their names but some I've heard recently have been frigging awful! The most recent one being Katara Confused it just reminds me of that phlegm when you've got a cold.

So what would you not name your baby?

scrufhead I don't actually think Chip is that bad, however with my surname ( F.r.y.e.r) it most definitely would be!

Blimey, were expecting a little girl and the front runner is Katherine. I had no idea she'd be at a social disadvantage because we would use a K instead of a C.

I was thinking of celebrity bad name making decisions when clicking on this thread. Thought Gwynedth, Katie and Posh had the bad name brigade all tied up between them, but Kanye and Kim took the biscuit. North West. Couldn't believe they did that. Are they hoping for some free flights in the future or endorsement deals with the airline Confused

Randy as a name has always grated on me since I was a child. I disliked the sexual connentations of it I think although I know it's common there. Had an American uni lecturer called that and there were always grins. Didn't seem to be a name well suited to a UK student population.

livingzuid · 12/01/2014 11:17

And Shock at Jenna Taylor

livingzuid · 12/01/2014 11:20

And I was nearly called Colombine. Why would my parents have done that to me?

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 12/01/2014 11:29

Persephone :-(

perplexedpirate · 12/01/2014 11:53

Persephone is lovely. Esp NN Percy.

miffybun73 · 12/01/2014 16:46

Kyle

OpalQuartz · 12/01/2014 16:53

Egbert

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/01/2014 16:59

Really miffybun the WORST baby name you have heard is Kyle???

miffybun73 · 12/01/2014 17:14

Probably, I'm not keen anyway and it just reminds me of Jeremy Kyle.

I'm sure that loads of people won't like my children's names and I really don't mind that. Everyone has different taste in names.

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/01/2014 17:26

My DS is called Kyle. I know it isn't an approved MN name but am upset it is THE worst name for you.

miffybun73 · 12/01/2014 17:32

Sorry Theonlyoneiknow

Nothing to do with it not being an approved name, just not for me.

I suppose threads like this are always going to offend/upset someone and I should have kept my thoughts to myself. I'm not a horrible person really.

Finabhear · 12/01/2014 17:36

I know a Kyle, he is American. Nice chap who really suited his name Grin

I can't believe DS1's name has made it in here Shock (Gwynedth also chose it but years after we did) again its a great name and he wears it very well. I have to say that we never intended it to be the long version but EVERYONE uses the longer version. Odd how people can't get their heads around unusual names Hmm

MadIsTheNewNormal · 12/01/2014 17:50

I hate the name Kyle. Really hate it.

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/01/2014 18:28

I just said my DS was called Kyle. Was there really any need to be so nasty about it FFS. Grow up.

MummyBeerest · 12/01/2014 19:06

Snow Angel.

First name Snow, middle name Angel.

Two of them separately? Whatever. Together? Just why?

My mother said that Downton would be a cool baby name yesterday.

I rolled my eyes so blatantly she thought I was having a seizure.

MadIsTheNewNormal · 12/01/2014 19:07

Oops sorry didn't see that.

AryaofhouseSnark · 12/01/2014 19:08

Kyle is a lovely name Theonly
