The worst baby names you have ever heard?

Just starting a list of what not to call my baby. I don't usually make a habit of judging babies by their names but some I've heard recently have been frigging awful! The most recent one being Katara Confused it just reminds me of that phlegm when you've got a cold.

So what would you not name your baby?

I have a 'K' name.
I'm not a chav... Am I?
(Insert DM sad face)

TBF, I've only ever met one other with my name and she was spelt with a C.

I've reported it mini Monty, I find it unnecessarily unkind and goading.

shelbytortoise · 10/01/2014 09:19

Not to mention racist.

LittleThorinOakenshield · 10/01/2014 09:21

I've reported too. And people wonder why we don't like these threads.

Brings them all out of the woodwork.

Urgh.

Alisvolatpropiis · 10/01/2014 10:43

Moomins

Exactly! There are far worse names to be called than Jayden, Kallum etc in my opinion.

Mini - really? ODFOD.

Why mention "white trash" or "over eager black parents"? As far as I've noticed duff (in my opinion) name choices are not related to race. Or indeed class.

pumpkinsweetie · 10/01/2014 10:58

I heard a lady from the school on sports day last year proudly pronouncing she may be calling her new baby 'Danger', i would have saw it as a joke but she sounded very seriousGrin

I would imagine he is the sort of person who thinks black people should know their place.
I mean, fucking hell, how dare you give your child a name that you like?
Maybe he has a list of approved black names, rather than letting people think they have the right to pick their own names?

Hey, he might be Ds1 science teacher? He is a racist prick as well, and he hates ds1 name.
Well, he said, a black boy called Tyler in top set science. I've never had a black student doing triple science, normally they can't be bothered. And especially with a name like yours.
My ds1 isn't black btw, he is mixed race but people like that tend to just see darker skin and assume everyone is black.

NigellasDealer · 10/01/2014 11:26

and quite honestly i increasingly find the term 'white trash' offensive - said by people who wouldn't dream of being racist oh no!

NigellasDealer · 10/01/2014 11:34

fucking hell tantrums did you complain?

Ledkr · 10/01/2014 11:54

Good god alive!
Did you complain?
I'm public sector and me would be instantly sacked for that.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 10/01/2014 11:58

Oh he was sacked. I wasn't going to let that one go.

Not so much individual names, but unfortunate combination.

My favourite is Aaron Hiscock. Whom my mum taught.

thegreylady · 10/01/2014 14:24

My dh1's OW had the surname Adcock-she certainly had Grin

Ledkr · 10/01/2014 14:38

Yes i also hope the racist is banned.
It is a criminal offence to make racist comments.

scrufhead · 10/01/2014 19:48

my mum named my brother Chip. popular in the states . he got the piss taken out of him till he was 14. everyone knows him and he's had no problems with jobs/ the ladies (he's 22 now) Each to their own! i dislike names such as James/ finlay/ tyler , but i wouldn't judge a person because of their name or treat them any differently!
