And what were the names that you liked but didn't use?

Was going to use

Lois, Heidi, Claudia, hazel, violet.

Bumpsadaisie · 17/12/2013 15:46

Beatrice

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 17/12/2013 22:37

I considered
Emma
Alexandra
Suzie
Gabriella
Imogen (which I still love!!)
Layla (wish I had used)
Elizabeth (used as a middle name)
Bethany
Nicole

But in the end we went for a name we had not heard used in the UK before (but not so out there that no one could spell it or pronounce it). Wish I had stuck with Layla Elizabeth sometimes though.

Mine (aged 4) is Scarlett Aurora Lillian- Lillian is a family name in DPs family, otherwise I would have vetoed it!

other names i liked-

Willow
Audrina
Lyla (seems popular according to this thread)

Weareboatsremember · 18/12/2013 19:31

I have a Francesca Rose. We had a massive long list, including Elizabeth, Beatrice, Matilda, Coraline, Felicity and Viola. Not sure which I'd use if we have a dd2.

MummyofIsla · 18/12/2013 19:36

My DD is an Isla

Names we didn't use (but might next time) -
Una
Reeva
Marie
Alexandra
Olivia

Inglori0us · 19/12/2013 07:17

Alexandra Violet.

Other names were:
Madeleine
Eliza
Clara
Alice
Aisling
Aoife
Maeve
Elizabeth
Iris
Emilia

I'd happily use any of those for another girl. No existing a boy and have NO CLUE.

Inglori0us · 19/12/2013 07:18

That should (obvs) say *expecting.
Stupid iPhone.

Lozcat86 · 19/12/2013 07:25

I have a DD (7 weeks old) and she is Freya Amy and has been from the beginning Smile

Dolallytats · 19/12/2013 07:47

I have a Natasha and an Isabella. Other names I considered were Anna, Jasmine, Yasmin, Anabelle, Natalie and Mya,

Natasha and Isabella were the only names DH and I could agree on!!

Good taste, Miaow - Erin and Robyn are also on our list for any future DD2's, to join our Alex. The names obviously go so well together!

Though I continue to have worries that having an Alex and a Robyn, when all my friends (and anyone who meets us, really!) know that I'm very much not a 'girly-girl' looks a bit like overkill in a deliberately unisex way...

ginzillas · 19/12/2013 11:45

DD is Marianne.
Names we liked but didn't use were an eclectic list, including Lola, Emmeline, Ella and Liberty.
No rhyme or reason to them really!
Marianne was the only one we both agreed on.

minipie · 19/12/2013 12:53

I shortlisted (and used one of)

Mia
Beatrice
Cara
Eloise
Marianne
Cecily
Madeleine
Melissa
Jessamine

The one we chose is possibly not the one which suits her best now I know her... But I like it anyway Smile

sethcohen · 19/12/2013 14:28

DD is Tess. Didn't consider anything else!

FastWindow · 19/12/2013 18:22

I considered Tabitha, Erin and Robin.

What we went for isn't even on the top thousand names.

miffybun73 · 19/12/2013 23:17

Emily.

Didn't really consider any other names as Emily is my favourite and we only have one daughter.

TobyLerone · 19/12/2013 23:21

Esme. She was named for a much-missed family member. She was always going to be Esme.

She's 12 now and it's beautiful on her. And, despite the protestations on MN about it being really popular, I've only ever met one other and everyone comments on how pretty/unusual it is.

SilverBirdie · 19/12/2013 23:25

We have an Edith Alice, she's wonderful just like her name Xmas Smile

Loveleopardprint · 19/12/2013 23:34

Molly Rose DD1
Daisy Hope DD2

They both like having a flower in their name.

NigellasDealer · 19/12/2013 23:39

Sophie
Tallulah
Katie/Kasia
Artemis

CremolaFirCone · 19/12/2013 23:42

Names I didn't use include
Wallace
Ida
Rowan
Greta
Dahlia
Cora
Rene
Esther

All family names from my side.
Delighted to see dds name remains as yet unmentionedGrin

Moxiegirl · 19/12/2013 23:46

We have Freya, Ellie Isla and Evie. Unused names Eloise and Hannah.
