I'm waiting for a Eunice

Pronounced "Unique". Grin

McKayz · 31/08/2012 10:32

No I wouldn't make automatic assumptions about a name. Lola is ridiculed on here for being a strippers name but the amazing MW who delivered my DD was called Lola. Luckily no one decided to discount her because of her name.

susiedaisy · 31/08/2012 10:37

Apparently Tallulah is synonymous with the porn industry on here, but I know several girls called Tallulah in RL and their parents would be horrified at that suggestion!

PigletJohn · 31/08/2012 11:00

I like kids being called after where they were conceived, like Brooklyn or Paris.

As I said to my daughter Hearthrug the other day.

AWomanCalledHorse · 31/08/2012 11:06

Rebluntay
On the Stfu parents blog.

On Maury; Nevaeh Tnes Legna (heaven sent angel backwards) was the name a non-pg teen wanted for her baby.

Frontpaw · 31/08/2012 11:53

I was at school with a Senga (Agnes backward, popular in Glasgow a while back).

5madthings · 31/08/2012 12:06

the names lola and eden have been mentioned on here and they are my dd's middle names, we like them, we also had Tallulah on our list, tho we chose a lovely cornish name in the end, it is unusual and we love it.

there are names i dont like and some that make me cringe but then others dont like the names we have chosen. its wrong to pigeon hole and judge someone based on their name.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 31/08/2012 12:16

Art at pigletjohn and little Hearthrug. Grin

anychocswilldo · 31/08/2012 12:21

I used to know someone who's dad was called Greville Confused

susiedaisy · 31/08/2012 13:01

Falcon! Falcon!
Just heard. Not sure if boy or girl.

diddl · 31/08/2012 14:04

Perhaps they´re a fan of Robert Falcon Scott?

Didn´t his son, Peter, call his son Falcon?

Frontpaw · 31/08/2012 14:13

Ummmmm, not very likely (said she in most diplomatic terms). Unless he was on X Factor...

Frontpaw · 31/08/2012 14:51

Just met a Teal (boy)

crackcrackcrak · 31/08/2012 15:25

Oh god I thought u meant there was a child called piglet!

almapudden · 31/08/2012 16:50

PG Wodehouse's name was Pelham Greville, anychocs.

I was at school with a boy called Meriadoc. It was about the time that the first Lord of the Rings film came out, too!

Gymrod · 31/08/2012 19:58

Rocha!! And also knew a bambi :o

FanjoPingpong · 31/08/2012 23:28

I do hope that when people hear me talking to my niece, they come straight on here and say "There's a little girl (~3) called Pickle! It's her actual name!" as if it's true just because it's how you heard me addressing her.

I plan to shout very silly names at my own children in supermarkets.

BigHairyFlowers · 31/08/2012 23:36

That's what I do Fanjo - never once made it onto one of these threads dagnabbit.

How much louder do I have to shout 'Oi! Sausage! C'mere!!' before you people bloody take any notice of me??

Arion · 31/08/2012 23:42

Heard in a park, siblings, India, China and Asia!

BillyBollyBandy · 31/08/2012 23:52

Leaf could be Leif which is a scandanavian name I think?

Betsy-Beau
Violet Lily - like both names but together they sound like "violently"!!
Macy - Rae - i asked like the shop, no the singer apparently Blush

EcoLady · 01/09/2012 00:28

'Leaf' reminds me that I met a little boy called Oak once. He was 3. He had long blonde dreadlocks and very 'alternative' parents. That was 20+ years ago... I wonder what he's up to now?

Sunnytimescoming · 01/09/2012 00:40

Dimples - see the 'Daily Record' people like this do exist

Chlamydia (so I heard) 'it sounds posh'...

Mercedes - heard with my own ears in a Travel Agent

xmasevebundle · 01/09/2012 00:42

My ex wanted car names for the child. Ford for a boy and Mercedes for a girl.

In american there is girls called mercedes and on teen mom there is a BENTLEYHmm

spiderlight · 01/09/2012 00:51

Mercédès was actually a girl's name long, long before it was a car: it's a traditional Spanish name, I believe, and the designer of the first Mercedes car named it after his daughter.
