NPPF, if it is that one, which I guess it probably is, then yes Tyger is his real name. Well his full name is Lindzi James Tyger Drew-Honey.

BobbiFleckman · 15/08/2012 20:34

his dad is Ben Dover the porn star

Recently I met a 5 year old Judas

redpanda13 · 15/08/2012 22:31

I overheard two women discussing their daughter's names. One was Havanna. I only know this as she was telling the other that the registrar had the cheek to suggest Havana. "I mean I'm not naming my daughter after a bloody cigar!"

Not an unusual name but, when I was in hospital after having DC2, a couple where next to me with their fitst dc, beautiful little girl. They had about 20 bags under the bad with blankets, changes of clothes etc as muddled obviously first time parents, as I recognise dfrom what I was first in! They were having a really intense converstaion about their dd's name, saying 'Well, we didn't want anything usunaual, maybe a bit different but not something she'll have problems with explaining or spelling out..' then 'Yes mum, it Maddison, no.. two s and 2 d in it' 'Hi mum and dad.. maddisson.. no we;'re not spellingt it like that..' then the nurse and dr turn up for the check with paperwork 'Yes, her name's maddisson..' no it's spelt...' My rule of thumb was either two syllable sor four letters! Still call them everyname under the sun other than their own Grin

Oh and at maternity antenatel clinic I heard a woman shout out 'STOP IT SNOOP DAWG' I was waiting at the counter top collect my notes and I looked at woman behind the counter and opened my eyes ever s slightly wide and she gave me a tight lipped very small nod of 'Yes' as in 'Yes, you did hear that and yes it is correct'

Catsdontcare · 15/08/2012 22:45

I met twin boys called Alfred and Albert today. Not particularly awful names individually but I have to say it did make me smile.

elah11 · 15/08/2012 22:56

I often call my ds2 Jimbob (he is Jamie) and get some funny looks when we are out :)

LurkingAndLearningLovesCats · 16/08/2012 00:33

I think name preferences aside, we can all agree that Snoop Dawg is pretty damn bad. Grin

redpanda13 · 16/08/2012 00:39

Snoop Dawg or Big Dawg are on my shortlist if I ever get my much longed for Bloodhound. So no I cannot agreee Lurking.
Scout if said Bloodhound is female.

LurkingAndLearningLovesCats · 16/08/2012 00:42

I meant for a child. My dog is nicknamed Snoop Doggy Dog because she is a snoop lol.

StateofConfusion · 16/08/2012 01:02

I got the Hmm face when I called ds at the beach today, his nn is sunny. He's got tons of blonde hair and thinks lifes on big laugh. I smiled at her and called him again by his real name --as he'd ignored me-- she looked gutted.

But then is sunny that bizare as a name?

DoNotDisturb · 16/08/2012 10:11

Sunny/sonnie is a cool name. I know a few and it's their full name not nickname. Then again I think there'd be a raised eyebrow by some mners if they heard me shouting for my two in the park Grin

imnotmymum · 16/08/2012 10:14

I have an array of names when out and about how... Caspian, Gerald...Morticia, supersonicsausagedogwithrubberwelliesonitsfeet ...

Sophiesmummie · 16/08/2012 10:51

I know a 6 year old Sonnie. Think it's his full, proper name. I like it.

Moominsarescary · 16/08/2012 11:24

We were thinking of Sonny for ds3, dp is Irish and it's his grandads name. I always think of Sonny as happy little things with curly blond hair for some reason

Clumsymum · 16/08/2012 11:45

At DS's primary school there were two boys, brothers I believe who were called Lucifer and Loki !! I can't help feeling that is looking for trouble.

And I remember waiting in the Dr's surgery one day, a mother called to her daughter ... " Rimini, come 'ere you! "

Sophiesmummie · 16/08/2012 11:57

Rimini sounds nice - cute and elgant at the same time.

Clumsymum · 16/08/2012 12:40

"Rimini sounds nice - cute and elgant at the same time."

Do you think so? Knowing that it's a holiday resort in Italy, I'm afraid I just thought "ah, we know where she was conceived then "

Sophiesmummie · 16/08/2012 13:37

What about Florence then?

Sophiesmummie · 16/08/2012 13:40

Or Madison, Paris or Sophia? Lots of names derive from place names. Yes, perhaps because the child was conceived there.. Or because the parents like the place... Doesn't make it wrong to be used to identify a person as well, does it?

mrsSOAK · 16/08/2012 16:25

the Sonny I knew was nn for Sundeep
the man who stalked me and made my life miserable...

JaneW99 · 16/08/2012 17:03

I used to work with a girl called Kitten (real name) - who was 23stone Grin

redpanda13 · 16/08/2012 18:52

Oh Kitten reminds me of a Squirrel (real name) whose mum ran a pub near us in the late 80's. Squirrel must be in her late 30s now.
