What names would you choose?

I think mine would by Ayla for a girl (from the earth children series) and Harry for a boy (from Harry Potter Blush)

I love Arya and Samwell from Game of Thrones!!

DoItOnce · 12/08/2012 21:11

Ohh, I already did this. DS's middle name is Oscar after Oscar in The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass. I love the Tin Drum, the main character decides he doesn't want to get any older than three so he jumps down the cellar stairs and remains the size of a three year old until many years later when he decides he does want to grow.
My DD is also named after a character in a children's TV series with horses init from a loooong time ago when I was little Grin.
yes, yes, I am aware this thread is about novels Smile

DoItOnce · 12/08/2012 21:12

I love the name Atticus too.

Vagaceratops · 12/08/2012 21:14

Meg (from Little Women)
Rodion.

Handsfullandrunningforgold · 12/08/2012 21:18

Matilda or Lyra for a girl.
Tyrion from game of thrones for a boy.

survivingsummer · 12/08/2012 21:19

I also would have loved Gilbert for a boy and Anne for a girl being a massive Anne of Green Gables fan Smile

DS is called Laurie after Laurie from Little Women (lucky DH agreed with me is the best name ever Grin)

Handsfullandrunningforgold · 12/08/2012 21:19

I also really like Aravis for a girl from a horse and his boy but Dp said NO

doinmummy · 12/08/2012 21:20

Called my DD Amber from a book called Forever Amber

SirBoobAlot · 12/08/2012 21:22

Atticus here as well. And Hermione, though loved it from Shakespeare first.

MousyMouse · 12/08/2012 21:27

vespasia (from anne perry's novels) but was too chicken to actually use it

farrowandballs · 12/08/2012 21:29

Lolita and Humbert. Erm perhaps not eh? Grin

randomfennel · 12/08/2012 21:36

From adult novels, I might go for Dorothea (middlemarch), Harriet (Vane), and Elizabeth (Bennett).

From children's novels, perhaps Jo (little women), Petrova (ballet shoes), and one of the Swallows and Amazon girls though you can hardly call a girl Titty these days but I did like her.

Quip · 12/08/2012 21:39

DS1 would be Pi
DS2 would be Vernon
DD would be Lyra

GnocchiNineDoors · 12/08/2012 21:42

My DD is Meg Alice.

Meg for Little Women and Alice for Alice in Wonderland.

Lord knows what any future dds/dss will be

Grin
MrsMangoBiscuit · 12/08/2012 21:45

Phèdre and Tyrion

Probably a good idea we didn't go with those. Grin

CouthyMow · 12/08/2012 21:46

Sophie. From BFG. Which I always wanted, even at 6yo, but for done reason didn't call my first DD that, and have only had boys since!

CouthyMow · 12/08/2012 21:47

And Rowan for a boy, but DS1's dad hated it, and do did DS2 & 3's dad. And I'm not having any more.

Chubfuddler · 12/08/2012 21:49

Fabrice from the pursuit of love. Matthew from the same novel.

Jo from little women.

ninah · 12/08/2012 21:49

Tess

chipmunksex · 12/08/2012 21:55

Holden from the catcher in the rye

Or Owen as in Owen Meany, I can't remember why we didn't use it?

and Emma of course Smile

BikeRaceRunningRaceNoSkiing · 12/08/2012 21:56

My dad did - he waited through two DSes to get an Alice.

Sirzy · 12/08/2012 21:57

Scout or Jem - love the book but would never have used the names!

DoItOnce · 12/08/2012 21:59

Any Atticus'es? Grin

DoItOnce · 12/08/2012 22:00

Ohh Owen Meany is a great book too.

RibenaHasLeftTheBuilding · 12/08/2012 22:00

Hhhm, Heathcliff (Bronte), Rebecca (Du Maurier), Scout (Lee) and probably Offred (Atwood). Probably for the best I didn't - Rebecca would be fine but I'm not sure about the others.
