What names would you choose?

I think mine would by Ayla for a girl (from the earth children series) and Harry for a boy (from Harry Potter )

Ayla was on my list but DH vetoed it. Also like Freya although that's an author not character lol.

I like hermione but wouldn't use it in real life

I dont believe this-Selky has chosen my all time faorite books-cant wait for the next Merrily Watkins and while I was about to post monsterchils has gone for The Dark is Rising which I feel is the best children's fantasy ever.
I'll go for Alice and Tolly I think-Wonderland and Green Knowe.

Unfortunately, a child named after my favourite literary character would be lumped with either Sherlock or Biggles.

DD2 is called Elana after the Princess Ehlana in the Sparhawk books.

ketuk have you noticed a poster going around these parts called PeggyBlackett? You might have something in common.

My two sons would be called Jack and Stephen, although given my taste in names I would probably go for Aubrey and Maturin, after the character's surnames.

I've not read The Dark is Rising series but will give it a go.... I'm doubtful it will kick Harry Potter out of my top spot though :)

Just thought of some more - I'd also have Jack from The Secret Island (Enid Blyton) and Elinor from Sense and Sensability.
