No jean.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 08/07/2012 19:53

Yeah grace is good too.

mumzy · 08/07/2012 19:54

Usual I know but everyone sniggers at her name and makes assumptions about her before they've even met her Sad

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 08/07/2012 19:56

Mumzy - that's really sad but have these people got nothing better to do? It might raise an eyebrow once or twice as its unusual, but surely?

Anyway as head of hr she has the last laugh, maybe she should sack the fuckers.

ataglance · 08/07/2012 19:59

What about Eleanor May? Shortened to Ellie-May if absolutely necessary.

picnicbasketcase · 08/07/2012 19:59

Actually, Kezia-Leigh sounds like casually. So not that.

mumzy · 08/07/2012 20:01

Unfortunately people do judge and make assumptions

JollyGoodFun · 08/07/2012 20:03

Have you tried asking on netmums?

They may be more supportive.

SlightlyJaded · 08/07/2012 20:10

Anything ending in an 'i' instead of a 'y' (Kizzi/Kerri etc) will lead to judgement. Mean but it just will.

Although at first glance the Lily one is the least hideous, I would say that Lily is so done to death I'd head toward the Lexi as a nn for Alexa.

So Alexa-May if she must hyphenate.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 08/07/2012 20:11

Well I would have thought reaching the top of your chosen department in the workplace should shut some of those judgy types right up. It's an odd name for sure but it obviously has not caused her any problems in her career.

Don't forget in 20 years time there are going to be lots of this type of name around.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 08/07/2012 20:11

Lily-Anne (or even better, Lilian)
Anna-May
Anna-Leigh (or even better, Annaliese)
Leah-May
Emily-May

Bunbaker · 08/07/2012 20:14

Hyphenated names are awful. An American friend of mine describes them as "trailer trash names". I'm afriad that round here hyphenated names are considered terribly chavvy. Sorry.

Pinot · 08/07/2012 20:16

None.

All awful.

Hyphens are acceptable only in the Deep South of America.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 08/07/2012 20:16

Emily-Jane

pinkpyjamas · 08/07/2012 20:20

Kizzi-Leigh sounds like an illness.
Lexi-Jean sounds like a learning disability.
Lily-May is ok without the hyphen - but there are lots of them about.

EBDTeacher · 08/07/2012 20:20

Anna Jean maybe.

I like lily-may but would have it as Lillee-Mai or Lilli-Mai.

Kizzee-leigh is really nice, I like Lexi but I would of had Lexii-Mai or Lexxii-Rai
I think Jean sounds like in an old folk home LOL.

QuickQuickSloe · 08/07/2012 20:23

Sally-Anne? I know she wants Anne as a midde name, but that's the nicest hyphen I could think of!

slatternlymother · 08/07/2012 20:23

If I was forced, at gunpoint, to make a choice it'd be Lily May, but without the hyphen.

TidyDancer · 08/07/2012 20:24

Mum2Kaison - that's a joke, right?

mumzy · 08/07/2012 20:24

I was just thinking if Teddi-Sue's mum had named her Theodora Susan, she could have still called her Teddi-Sue as a family name but given her the choice of a more adult dignified moniker to use when she was grown up. As I recall I think the Queen's family pet name was Lilibet. Not much cop as Queen Lilibet but cute for a small child.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 08/07/2012 20:24

I know a Mae-Lyn known as Mae to all by the time she was 1.

Thatsnotmypenguin · 08/07/2012 20:24

Lily-May it the least awful....
