Had our 20 week scan today, not only are we lucky enough to be having a healthy baby, but we also found out will be having a boy. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

We already have a (very ecstatic) 7 year old boy - Oscar.

Names we both like:
Felix
Spike
Max

Names I like:
Caspar
Ptolemy (I know Grin Wink)

Names DH likes:
Stanley
Elvis (I know Confused Hmm)

What else could be add to our list? Our surname begins with an N and is one syllable.

I like Felix but weren't Oscar and Felix the Odd Couple in the film with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau? Or that might be a good thing?

Actually I like almost all these names - I have an Oscar myself. If I's had another boy he might have been Linus.

I would say you and your DH work better as a team than apart Grin

These are great suggestions - thank you everybody!

Yes, Spike is quite nicknamey, but that's not an issue for us. I know it does tend to be quite a marmite name.

The Odd Couple combo of Felix and Oscar, I find quite amusing really (I know it's probably a bit naughty to be "amused" by name choices, but there you go Grin)

I have a Stanley but on our list we had Caspar and Felix too, as well as Benedict, Rex, Teddy and Kit. He just looked like a Stan when he popped out but I love all the other names too.

Congratulations! My DS has an obscure Irish name - we also liked unusual, quirky names. Here are some I liked but didn't go with:

Angus
Fintan
Barnaby
Seamus
Ceadach (several possible pronunciations, including kay-da ... depends if you want to inflict a difficult spelling on him!)
Corvid

I like Spike :)

seeker · 11/05/2012 19:54

Please not Woody.

LynetteScavo · 11/05/2012 19:59

Conrad

Bruce

Hamish

Milo

Angus

Fergus

Hugo

Oswold

LynetteScavo · 11/05/2012 20:00

Elvis is a great name, btw. But I think you should save it for the cat/dog.

abbypumpkin · 11/05/2012 20:04

I like max from your joint list

StateofConfusion · 11/05/2012 20:41

Not seth

scummymummy · 11/05/2012 21:02

Seth is a fabulous name.

threeleftfeet · 11/05/2012 21:16

There was a long thread on Spike recently.

mrscupcake · 11/05/2012 21:43

Congratulations!!!!

Have to say I'm with your Dh on Elvis - fab name! Felix is good too.

Not Seymour - that's my dh's middle name and everyone calls him Seymour Butts!

Teddy is a nice name - my bf was going to call her son that and didn't, then regretted it, so now everyone calls him Teddy anyway!

Barnaby
Harvey
Monty
Hamish
Fergus
Dylan
Frank
Jarvis

EBDTeacher · 11/05/2012 21:47

I have an Oscar. We also had Felix and Jasper on our list. Think Oscar and Felix go really well together.

My secret wish was Remus but our surname ends in 'ss' so it didn't work.
