Humphrey - yes or no?

We both like the name Humphrey very much, but it does seem to be a love it or hate it name. What's the MN verdict?

I like it, but would never use it because Humph is just so bloody awful. Such a shame really.

I know a guy in his early 30's called James Humphrey Surname...we all call him Humphrey no idea why as do his parents.
