Pretty, cool & unusual girls' names

We have just found out that our third (and final) attempt at IVF was successful and that we are having a girl. Although I've had years to think of names, I am completely out of inspiration at the moment. Also, we live overseas so are not familiar with the trends in the UK.

I would really appreciate some suggestions. I am looking for a pretty name, but one that is also cool. And not in the Top 100.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Wow! Congratulations - you must be sooo excited Grin.

My taste in baby girl names is, generally speaking, very unpopular on MN (Ivy, Lily, Poppy etc.) Grin. The only one I really love which might fit your criteria is Delphi.

Exactly like Aphra Behn (love her).

Had ds (21wo) been a dd, he would have had Aphra as a name.

I might mention it to DH - for it were he who first drew her to my attention, so you'd think he'd approve.

That might compensate for my rejection of Gudrun and Ursula. I love DHL, but not that much Hmm

I love Celeste/Celestine but sadly couldn't use as clashes very badly with our surname.

Also love Cressida, Tabitha and Serafina. May still use Serafina one day...

DD is Ruth which is unusual at the moment, and I think it's pretty!

Elke is lovely, although I used to work with someone called Elke (who was German - still is, probably!!!) and she was sort of older and jolly and round, which puts me off a bit. Eska is also lovely.
