What are the hip Londoners & jet set calling their 2012 babies?

Just wondering what the posh Londoners & jet setters are calling their new babies as these are always the names that trickle into the main stream in a few months. A friend of mine is a midwife in a private London hospital & she said the following are really gaining popularity

Boy

  • Arlo
-Otto -Casper

Girls
-Fleur
-Ottolie(never heard this before!!!)
-Florence

She said in the upper class William, Edward still used commonly for boys as middle names. Charlotte, Isabella, Poppy for girls

Can you add anymore up & coming names?I'm sure there are plenty of threads like this I'm just too lazy to look!!!) Find it fascinating & I love the way high society types get away with names the majority of us find somewhat bizarre!!!

cute nn would be shazza for sharon and tray for tracey.

SardineJam · 11/01/2012 13:24

I've come across about 3 little Sallys born in the past few months

Goodness Starshaped, i hope i'm not one of the decidedly none hipster parents at one of your groups!

BleatingRose · 11/01/2012 14:18

I do love the name Arlo actually- wanted it for DS, but DH vetoed sadly.

Linerunner - Mitford seems like a girls name to me, for some reason Grin

bigbluebump · 11/01/2012 14:35

I agree Sharon is a nice name but fear it may be a few more years before it loses its associations i.e. for our children to find it 'new' and 'hip' again Smile.

I'm surprised to see Quentin mentioned a few times. We named ours 6 years ago when it wasn't very popular here (although it had been in top 10 in France, where dh is from).

Starshaped · 11/01/2012 14:38

I meant it in the nicest way ilooklike - I'm not sure being a hipster is really a compliment?! All the mums that I know with Berties are just nice and 'normal' IYKWIM and not too cool for school!

ilooklikegrotbagstoday · 11/01/2012 15:52

I wouldn't mind not being a hipster at all but decidedly non hipster is another story Wink. Mine's an Albie btw. We chose it because it's an old family name. Hadn't heard of a single one when he was born 4 years ago so was trying to steer away from popular or hipster names but there seems to be a few younger Albies in this area now.

ReneeVivien · 11/01/2012 15:58

I like both Sharon and Tracy. Not Shazza and Tray, though Smile

FriggFRIGG · 11/01/2012 16:04

I love the name Albie...Arlo was nearly an Albie Smile

SaraBellumHertz · 11/01/2012 16:09

It's a few years since I moved out the eastend meeja playground that I used to inhabit so these days most of my friends seem to have terribly middle class names for their babies.

3 out of 4 of my DC's have been named on this thread and the eldest only misses out by virtue of her once raise an eyebrow name is now common as muck Shock

Strange to see Orla/ Orlaith in there as in Ireland it's such a trad name. And I don't think of oral when I look at mine eurochick
There are a lot of names on here that have made it up north in droves. So not quite as hipster as people think. Know loads of Marthas, Marnis, Arthurs, Raphaels, Benedicts.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 12/01/2012 09:26

Do not think of oral sex when I hear Orla, and I have no vested interest either way in the name.

mopsyflopsy · 12/01/2012 10:46

I hadn't thought of oral when I read/hear orla, but now do Grin

BarryShitpeas · 12/01/2012 10:59
