Just wondering what the posh Londoners & jet setters are calling their new babies as these are always the names that trickle into the main stream in a few months. A friend of mine is a midwife in a private London hospital & she said the following are really gaining popularity

It's funny that Orla is becoming so popular here, it is bog standard at home. There were 5 in my class in primary school. With a variety of spellings :)

This week I encountered a tiny girl called Ethel Rita June (the ultimate old lady name) and a boy names Po. As in the teletubby.

When all the kids at DD's nursery troop next door to amuse/ sing to the local old folk's home, what is hilarious is that they all have the same names eg Ethel, Arthur, Molly, Alfie meet Ethel, Arthur, Molly, Alfie.

my sister called her ds Oliver as she didn't know any - didn't listen to me with three boys at school - 24 hours later the Times top ten list came out with Oliver at the top - she was furious! I love Florence, but it is in the Hatches, Matches and Dispatches EVERY day! I have three boys and if by some amazing streak of luck we are having a girl (chances slim!) as number 4, then I don't want to get it wrong - SO HARD!!
