Boo for a girl?

We have just started thinking about names and I really like Boo for a girl? We have quite a long surname so would like something nice and short. I know it sounds quite cutesy but think the lack of a middle name would help.

Thoughts?

Thanks

No - but I think it's a great nn for Isobel. :)

I have a friend who has a Dd called Aliyah. but since still pregnant she has only ever been called boo.

It's cute but not a name

lifeinagoldfishbowl · 03/10/2010 21:13

Nice as a nickname - why not give her a proper name and then have a nickname.

Definitely NOT unless she has a different 'proper' name

4kidsandcounting · 03/10/2010 21:15

thisisyesterday · 03/10/2010 21:15

1 of my dd's nicknames is Boo the other is Larly.. not as a real name though

honda123 · 03/10/2010 21:21

What about spelling it Bu? I've met a girl called Bu and I believe it's a Vietnamese name meaning lucky...

Love it by the way!

LetThereBeRock · 03/10/2010 21:22

Absolutely not.

PaulineCampbellJones · 03/10/2010 21:30

I sent to Uní with a girl called Boo. She was gorgeous so it's a nice name to me.

BooBooGlass · 03/10/2010 21:32

I'm flattered, but NO

christabell · 03/10/2010 21:52

Boo Radley!

Agree only as nickname - could call her Boudicca?

BelligerentGhoul · 03/10/2010 21:57

Noooooooooooooooooooo to Boudicca/any other spelling thereof. Just no.

telsa · 03/10/2010 22:13

Boo is a short form of Picabo - a Native American name meaning Shining Waters (used in the Picabo region of Idaho). Same word as Peekaboo actually. I think it is dead cute!

pointydog · 03/10/2010 22:16

Turrible.

Heifer · 03/10/2010 22:41

nick name = fine
Real name = she will hate you forever

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 03/10/2010 22:44

DD is Boo - NOT her real name but what she is known as (mostly).

However, her real name is equally hated by MN, so maybe I should reserve judgement.

That wasn't very helpful at all was it? Blush

Littlefish · 03/10/2010 22:46

It's a noise, not a name.

Bunbaker · 03/10/2010 22:48

Oops, you made me jump!

Great as a nickname, but please give her a proper name as well.

wilkos · 03/10/2010 22:49

my dd is also nicknamed boo, or boo boo Blush

It was me that started it. however now she is 3 if I accidentally call her it in public I feel like a complete twat
